Dr Donna Lee Alexander Redmayne

Dr. Donna Lee Alexander Redmayne, a life long resident of the Antelope Valley, was born on August 24th 1947 in Oakland, CA and moved to the AV before her first birthday. She passed away quietly on April 26th 2023. Services will be held on June 9th at 2 PM at Scared Heart Church in Lancaster, CA.

Donna attended Sacred Heart Elementary School, Park View Middle School and AV High School. She went back to school at Antelope Valley College in 1981. After AVC She went to California State University Northridge where she achieved numerous awards for academic excellence and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Psychology. Se went on to complete her PhD in Neuropsychology at California School of Professional Psychology in Fresno, California in 2002. Donna’s biggest passion was helping people and after her husband suffered a traumatic brain injury in an automobile accident, she felt she would be better able to help traumatic brain injuries by studying Neuropsychology. From that moment on Donna dedicated her life teaching and helping others how to recover from traumatic brain injuries, strokes and other brain abnormalities.

Donna’s career took her down many different avenues. She helped start a crisis intervention unit at Antelope Valley Hospital. She taught Psychology at Antelope Valley College and Cal State Bakersfield for many years. She also worked for the California Department of Corrections as both an intern while in college and as a professional Neuropsychologist. She worked at Lancaster Community Hospital in the creation of the Bariatric program. Donna took many pro bono traumatic brain injury patients during her career as well as she felt no one should be left behind in recovery from trauma because they couldn’t afford it.

Donna is survived by her children Michael(Mary) Redmayne, Krista Redmayne and Teresa Forinash. She is also survived by the lights of her lives, her grandchildren. Britni(Jesse) Ortega, Alec Redmayne, Elizabeth Redmayne, Isaac Redmayne, Eli Redmayne and Rylee Redmayne and her great grandchildren Maddox and Maila Ortega.

Donna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Redmayne, her parents, Jess and Lois Alexander and many cousins especially Jean Weatherford and Joyce (Jordahl) Cicero whom she thought of as sisters?
