Floyd W. Jones was born to Richard, Estel Jones on April 3rd 1946, passed away peacefully after battling Pancreatic Cancer on Dec. 1 2025. To know our dad was to love him. He had the biggest heart in the world would give the shirt off his back to help someone out. Our dad married our mom his High School Sweetheart on April 16th 1966. He joined the United States Air Force in Sept 1966. Where he was an Aircraft Mechanic, Maintenance Tech, and then a Maintenance Supervisor. During his time in the Air Force he received numerous awards and commondations. He later realized he could do the exact same job on the plane he loved working on in retirement, so he retired from the Air Force in Sept 1986. Went to work for Lockheed Martin Skunk Works on his beloved SR-71 Blackbird. We often said as kids he loved that plane more then us. He also worked on the U2, but his passion and love was for the SR-71. In April of 1996 he lost his High School sweetheart, and wife to a car accident. A few years later he remarried and shortly after she passed. At that point our dad decided to retire from Lockheed Martin Skunk Works, and move to Yuba City Ca. Where he picked many hobbies. He traveled around along with other SR-71 pilots, and mechanics to museums and talked about the plane that he loved to work on. He also restored a 1942 military Willy Jeep to his original form. He was invited to a lot of parades and even was the driver of many military special guests who were the Grand Marshal of the parade. He also joined Northern Recon Group. Who also had jeeps, and other military vehicles. The group traveled to numerous events and shows. He was recently was getting into LA Kings Hockey which every time he went to see his daughter in Southern Ca. they would go to a game. Proceeded in Death his two brother John Jones, Joseph Jones. Floyd is survived by his two Daughter Elizabeth Jones (Southern California), fur grandbabies Jax, Bailey, and Natalie Jones (Northern California), fur grandbabies Penelope, and Levi, Toast, James Bond and numerous nephews and nieces. Words can not express the loss my sister and I feel right now. Our father was a big part of our lives even as adults. He is going to be greatly missed by so many. Till me meet again dad we love you.
