Words cannot express my sadness to hear about Jim's passing.  I will always think about him anytime I go bowling.  No one can prepare you for the heartache and the loss but may there be comfort in knowing that someone so special will never be forgotten. Prayers and love send to you and your family.

Jim has a special place in our hearts. He was a kind quiet man with a Texas grin. He enjoyed reminiscing about old times. You will be missed and we are glad to have been part of your life. Rest In Peace.

I was sad to hear that Jim had passed, my heart goes out to Dora and all the families. 
I will always remember when Jim and I helped my brother build his workshop behind his house. Every time I visit I always think of that week in the summer. He will be missed.

I will always cherish when I would go stay over there and we would go on walks with Ozzie, I will never forget how amazed and shocked I was with how you taught Ozzie to stop at the cross walks to check if it's safe before we would cross. When a man can say he gave love and was loved then he had a  blessed and  WONDERFUL LIFE!  You had such a life and we thank GOD for having you in our lives. Rest in peace until we are together again.

Papa is, and will remain, one of the strongest men I have ever met. In the recent days, I've learned more about him that only reinforces what I've known since I was a boy. My dad recently shared that Papa taught him how to use various tools around the garage when he was about 18 years old. It made me think. To this day, I never asked my dad where he learned to change a tire, or make minor home repairs. But as I teach my son these life skills, I now know that some of these lessons began on Aldrich Street in Whittier.

Nearly all of my favorite memories of Papa take place in Whittier. I remember visiting Nana and Papa's house for holidays and gatherings, playing with my sister and cousins. He would show me how to build car garages out of corrugated boxes, shoot pool, play horseshoes and darts, and talk about what it's like to be a cowboy on the ranch.

When I was about 10 years old, I recall asking him if he was a real cowboy. He replied, yes sir, and continued to share what it was like on the ranch. I looked up to him for being a caring grandfather, a cowboy and for showing me so many things. Yet had no idea how much more he had accomplished in life, and provided for our family.

In the recent years, his strength was tested. But a cowboy at heart, Papa never wavered. Up until last year, we continued our talks about what it was like when he and Nana first met, and of course living and working on a ranch in the earlier days. I could see in his eyes the pleasure he received from talking about life and family. Memories that no disease could ever take from him.

I feel blessed that Papa was here to meet my wife, Saghi and son, Dagen. We miss you and love you.

Papa you will be missed by me and many others. You were such a kind and loving person to all those around you. I will forever cherish the time I was able to spend with you. The image of you waving goodbye to us outside your door every single time we left will forever remain in my memories. I love you papa, see you later alligator.

My heart was broken when I was told you had passed away. I will always have the wonderful memories of us to cherish. My favorite time was at the ranch hanging out with you. I can still hear your laughter and see your smiling face. There are so many things I see around that remind me of you. You were a generous, kind and loving man. I was blessed to have you as my father and the love you had for me. In my heart you hold a place that no one could ever fill. I have another angel watching over me. My favorite and best memories are when you would come over on Saturdays to help my dad fix a car.  (I love hearing stories of how you taught my dad how to fix cars.  You taught my dad so many good things.)  But before you would work on the car with my dad, you would play baseball with me on Nintendo.  And when my Nintendo broke, who showed up with a new one?  My Papa! 
 
I remember when you bought woodworking equipment, you said you weren't an expert, but you were going to teach yourself to build things.  And you did just that!  Who built me shelves for my room?  My Papa!

I remember having to take the bus to work, when I was in college and I hated it. But who would rescue me and give me rides?  My Papa!

My life was greatly impacted by a man of few words, a hard worker, a gentle soul, a kind man...my Papa!

Papa Jim was always so kind to me and treated me like family. I'm forever grateful for that. He will be missed by many. Love you Papa Jim ❤

I'm so glad when I lived in California I was able to get to know my cousin Jimmy. I'm so sad to hear of his passing. Sending prayers of comfort to Dora and their children

It is very sad to have lost Jim.  He was a generous person with a good heart and was always so good to my family. "Papa Jim" will be missed as a great grandfather to my children, Evan & Miranda, and as a grandfather to my wife, Renae. I will miss his smile, firm handshake and the discussions about sports we used to have.

Having Jim in our lives was truly a blessing.  He was a good and kind man, a helpful father and very dear to us.  He will be more than missed. Jesus said, My father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. John 14:2-3  We will see you again Papa Jim.

Our family is deeply saddened by our loss of Jimmy.  His kind and most generous heart taught us so much about life and we are all missing him dearly.
Jimmy, we thank you for the never ending and unconditional love & support that you shared with our family.  You were the one constant. We are grateful for the memories. We will love you always......
