

Jose Maria Barajas born August 30, 1933 passed away February 22, 2019. Jose was born in Welview, Texas, on August 30, 1933, to Jesus and Clotilde Barajas(Rosas). He was one of nine children. In 1960, Jose married the love of his life, Lorraine Louise (Suniga), beloved bride of 51 years. Jose and Lorraine had three children. Jose is survived by his daughter, Victoria Barajas, three granddaughters, Sonia Valenzuela(Rodrigo), Ann Rosales, Angela Rosales, and three great grandchildren, Alexis, Andrew and Isaak Valenzuela. He is also survived by his sister Maria Duran and brother Jessie Barajas.
Jose served in the United States Marine Corps 1956 until 1959. He loved the Marine Corp and was always a very hard-working man. He was employed with Lockheed in Burbank, Ca., in 1959, then moved to Lancaster, California where he was employed with Edwards Air Force Base as a Fire Fighter and retired after twenty-five years of service in 1985. He then was employed with Lancaster School District for ten years and retired in 1997, in addition, Jose and his wife Lorraine owned and operated a Janitorial Business from 1964 to 2005.
Jose loved spending time with all his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was know to them as "Papa." He loved traveling with the grandkids in his motorhome camping all over with the love of his life Nana Lorraine. Jose was also blessed to have many loving nieces and nephews, as well as, good friends who all shared in fun activities including traveling by cruise ships, camping and casinos.
He was very well-loved and devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Rosary and Mass will be held on Saturday, March 9, 11:30 a.m. Sacred Heart Church (656 W. Kettering Street, Lancaster), and at 1:00 p.m. , Military Graveside Burial, Joshua Memorial Park and Mortuary in Lancaster, with reception to follow.
