

Larry Donnell Hill was born November 5, 1954 in Greene County, Alabama and later the family moved to Cleveland, Ohio where he grew up. He was baptized at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Alabama. Larry was a person who never had a bad day with anyone and would talk to people even if he knew them or not.
Larry spent six years in the US Navy serving our country all across the globe including, Australia, Puerto Rico, Guam, Japan, Italy and other places while serving on the USS Point Defiance out of San Diego. Larry met the love of his life, Sue when he was stationed at the SeaBee Base in Port Hueneme, CA. Larry and Sue have been happily married for the past 38 years.
After his separation form the Navy with an honorable discharge, Larry pursued a career again protecting the natural environment that we all share today. The National Forest. Larry began his fire service career in Northern California on the Lassen National Forest 1984 and left his legacy on the Angeles National Forest retiring in 2010 after becoming the first Forest Service Fire Captain at a Unified Station with San Bernardino County Fire and the National Forest.
What Larry loved above everything else, was spending time with his lovely wife Sue, "My Baby" as he would always say. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and bar-b-queing. He enjoyed watching his 49ers, Cleveland Cavaliers and San Francisco Giants.
Larry leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Sue his beautiful mother Hattie Whitelow, father Austin (deceased), four wonderful sons, Alan(Kasey), Shadon (Sheila), Aubrey (Tasha) Lee (Denise), 16 grandchildren , two sisters, Alesia (Joe), Terri (Cedric), brother Joe, his dearest mother-in-law Louise, and sister-in-laws, Pam (Stuart), Cherie (Steve) and a host of relatives and friends.
