

Known to all his friends as “Bogie” was born in Portland, Oregon June 7, 1928. He passed away April 25, 2013, in Palmdale, Calif. Bogie served in the Merchant Marines for a year in 1944, at the age of 16, and then joined the Army in December of 1945, stationed first in Paris and then Germany where he met and married the love of his life, Nina. He was discharged from the Army in 1949, and returned to Portland. He worked for Lyons Moving and Storage as a driver traveling throughout the United States. n 1959, he moved his family to Lancaster where he worked for and eventually managed Lancaster Moving and Storage. Bogie and Nina moved back to Portland in 1978, and lived there until his retirement in 1993. They returned to the A.V. in 1996. He was a proud Teamster until the day he died. Bogie had a kind and generous personality and was loved by everyone he met. He will be sorely missed by all. Survived by his wife of 564 years, Nina, sons Michael (Cathy) of Palmdale, Calif., Steven (Sandy) of San Diego, Calif., grandchildren Jon Borgardt (Rinat), Lindsey Ladyzhensky (Eugene), Nicholas Borgardt, Courtney Glazner (Matt), Brandon Borgardt (Ashley), great-grandchildren Caden Glazner, Rease Glazner, Parker Glazner, Joslyn Borgardt, Taylor Borgardt. At Bogie’s request, there will be no funeral or official memorial, although his family and closest friends will gather to celebrate his life at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, Lancaster.
