

Anthony Joseph Stefanelli, age 94, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Tony, as he was affectionately known, was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 8, 1930, to the late Angelo and the late Carmela (Radazo)Stefanelli. Tony served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict in the M. Co 32 Regiment, 7th Division and maintained relationships for years with some of the men who served with him. In 2019, Tony received a Combat Infantry Badge Korean Service Medal from the Korean Consulate.
Tony retired in November of 1996 as a construction manager for the NY City Housing Preservation and Development Department. Prior to that, he served in many supervisory roles including general and site superintendent of construction for the Bureau of Reconstruction, supervisor of inspection unit for the Housing Preservation and Development Department in the Bronx and supervisor of building maintenance in the Interim Leap Program.
During the time he worked for Lovisa Construction as a mason supervisor, he worked on various projects at Stony Brook University and the construction of water treatment plants on Fire Island and Plum Island. Tony supervised masonry projects including schools, apartment houses, churches, hospitals and industrial buildings for Caristo Construction on Long Island.
Tony was a family man who liked cooking, gardening and playing poker. He loved eating breakfast with the ROMEO group, watching the Mets, but most of all, he loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Myrna, and his loving children Steven Stefanelli, Lisa (Cormac) Molloy and Michael (Janice Burgos) Stefanelli. He is also survived by his grandchildren Keri-Ann (Jeremy Struzik) Stefanelli, Justine Stefanelli, Alona (Josh Costa) Stefanelli, Brianna (Guy Lopez) Stefanelli, Dylan Molloy and Emily Molloy, great- grandchildren Kaya and Declan Struzik, Savannah and Sienna Lopez and Haze and Aviva Costa. He is preceded in death by his siblings Charles Stefanelli, Vivian Russo and Donald Stefanelli, his sister- in-law, Phyllis Hollander, and his brothers- in-law Richard Russo and Wallace Hollander. A viewing will be held at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 2PM - 5PM. A funeral service with military honors will take place on August 7th at 10:40AM at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. Contributions in Tony's memory may be directed to Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, Alzheimer's Association, American Lung Association, Nathan Adelson Hospice Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
A visitation for Anthony will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Palm Mortuary - Cheyenne, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129, followed by a funeral from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
