He came to this country as a young boy and proceeded to join the US Navy in 1960 at the age of 18. He proudly served 4 years on the USS Princeton. He married the love of his life Enedina in 1967 after meeting her at a Christmas Party and proposing 2 months later.
He began a whole new chapter of his life after relocating from Houston to Los Angeles in 1967 and shortly after was blessed with a son Arturo, and daughters Veronica and Isela.
While living in Whittier, CA Arturo worked for Gulf Oil as a refinery supervisor for many years and eventually Coastal Refinery while temporarily relocating to the island of Aruba.
Arturo had many hobbies including golf, was an avid reader, Fútbol fan, and a member of the Moose Lodge, and Toastmasters Organization.
Those who knew him well were always prepared for either some words of wisdom, a lesson on life, and stories to be told—and tell them he did.
He and Enedina eventually retired and moved to Las Vegas, NV but shortly thereafter was diagnosed with cancer.
Arturo was preceded in death by his father Ignacio, mother Ninfa, and brother Juan Flores.
Survivors include his wife Enedina, son Arturo, daughters Veronica and Isela, four grandchildren-Michael, Gabby, Vanessa and Martin, great grandchild Luke, sisters Carmen, Carol, Paula, brothers Victor, Greg, Bobby and Nicholas, many nieces and nephews both in California and Mexico, and left behind many additional family and friends.
Special thanks to neighbors and friends in Sun City Aliante for their friendship and support.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.palmnorthwest.com for the Flores family.
