Ben's smile could light up the whole room. His excitement and passion was palpable. He was always so excited to show me the drawing he made on the back of his library worksheets, it would always brighten my day to see his excitement and creative imaginative drawings.

Ben was such a sweet, funny, smart boy! I loved having him in my first grade class. He gave the best hugs! A couple months ago, he got to come back to my classroom to read to my class. He did an amazing job and he was so proud, as was I. His smile is one I will never forget. It was an honor to know Ben.



Someone once said, “Statistically, it is highly unlikely that anyone will ever have the opportunity to change the world. But, in the smallest gesture of kindness - a warm smile, holding the door open for the person behind you, saying hello to your neighbor - you have committed an act of immeasurable profundity, because to each of us, our life is our universe.”

For most people knocks at the door are infrequent and most always solicitors.  As the days and visits went by with Benny, I found myself feeling excited and looking forward to that welcomed knock at my door. 

In May of 2020 we were very lucky and added a beautiful Cockatiel to our family named Tuppence.  The neighborhood children came over to see the new bird in excitement and we were happy to oblige.  The fuss was soon over and everyone went about their lives, all except one.  Almost everyday after that I looked forward to an innocuous little knock on the door.

Here was a little boy who had the choice to do anything in the whole world and he chose to spend a few minutes with Tuppence and me in mine.  In this simple exchange he gave me a gift, his time and my now memories of him- forever young and happy.

I can see and hear clear as day, a knock on my door and Benny with a huge smile and glimmer in his eyes asking, “Can I please see the bird?”

Jimmy and Beth, I  Can't even begin to imagine what you are going through right now. Jade and I remember Benji... And all of the kids playing last Thanksgiving at your house . 
I told Noel that if you guys need anything to please let me know as I am from Jersey and we Have to all stick together and help one  another.

Benny, you were such an amazing friend to Jacob. He absolutely loved hanging out with you and loved how you would recruit him to help you search for bugs and run around the park playing. You were never shy, always laughing and smiling. Your smile could light up the world. I remember taking you and Jacob to the park and you told me you loved your school and praying because you missed your grandma so very much but that she is in heaven. I know that you are with her now. I remember when your dad told us you were coming to Jacob’s birthday party, Jacob was so excited to have you over, you ran in with your gift and insisted Jacob open it right away, and of course he did! I absolutely loved watching you play baseball and the way you would always turn to your mom or dad and ask them to record you. You loved your family so fiercely. Whether it was sneaking in a snuggle with mom between innings or just asking if she saw your hit or giving her a thumbs up from the field, your love for her was so evident and their love for you the same. Thank you for being such an amazing friend to us Ben, we love you and your entire family. We will miss you so very much ❤️

I loved playing with Benny in the neighborhood and seeing his joyful smile and laugh. He always brightened my day and could put a smile on my face. I will forever treasure all the trampoline bounces and water balloon fights. Sending so much love to the family 💛

Jim and family...I am so sorry for your tragic loss.  As I know the pain you are feeling personally, no words can express my sorrow for you.  Your little angel is now hanging out with his Grandma.  I am sure she was there to welcome him.

Benny could most definitely  light up a room with that incredibly bright, infectious,  and adorable ear to ear grin of his.  Each and every time I saw him he was smiling or giggling and  finding a way to spread pure joy to everyone around him.  He was such a happy, spunky, and lovable little guy who uplifted my spirits and warmed my heart. He had such a kind and gentle soul just like his big brother, Billy and his two amazing parents. It is an honor to know such a remarkably loving and sweet family.  My heart goes out to all of you.  My thoughts and prayers are with you now and always. Thank you for touching my heart, Benny. You will always be remembered!

Benny was a shining light who was always happy with such a magnetic personality people were drawn to him. I have so many fond memories of him; his many girlfriends, love of cars (G wagon was his ride of choice) and his love of baseball. Benny, you've touched so many hearts in your 7 years.  ❤ 



Ben was a fun little guy. I always loved to hear his perspective on the situation at hand. He always had a happy and upbeat way of looking at things. He was so kind to wait for me when we went out walking. How lucky we all were to know him and love him! I will remember with joy that I got to be his friend. May the Peace of the Lord be with You.
