Grandma was always so kind to me and the memory of her will always make me motivated to be a better person. I think about her often and the kind words that she told me. She was a warm and gracious person. She is loved and missed.

My Mother left an indelible and lasting imprint on my heart.  Her ability to express her love for her family and those close to her provided a great example to her children.  Mom's sense of humor and ability to bring joy to her grandkids is something I know they will remember their entire lives.  Mom's love for the Lord and her unwavering faith provided an anchor for her family during the trying times.  I will be forever grateful to her for her wisdom and how she worked so hard to mold the hearts and minds of her children to trust the Lord.

Betty Brunner was the kindest, good hearted woman I have ever known.  My mother married my sister and I into the Brunner family and Betty never thought twice about us not being blood.  She accepted my children and myself as her own grandchildren always keeping us in her heart and prayers and welcoming us into her home.  Betty always had a positive outlook on life that was contagious and for that i am eternally grateful.  I know that she is in a better place now forever watching over her loving family.  I am blessed i got to enjoy the short time I had with her before she passed for she was a true inspiration in  our lives.

Grandma Betty has been an amazing surrogate grandma to me for the last 22 years. Both of my grandmothers passed away when I was 19 and 21, and Betty took their beloved place for me, giving me the love, support and acceptance that my grandmothers could no longer give me in person. I have one time in particular in my life that Grandma Betty gave me the strength I needed to endure. It was after I lost my baby, and she sent me a card from South Dakota comforting me and telling me and Mike how proud she was of us for our decisions regarding this pregnancy. I can't even think of this story without tearing up because it was the most supportive card I ever received afterwards and I am grateful for her to this day for the love and support that card gave me during that time of my life. It was literally what I needed to help me through such a hard trial. Grandma was such a grateful person and never forgot to thank the Lord always for her family and it was such a blessing to hear her say this at the end of every family get-together. I know she is looking after all of us and that we will see her again. What an amazing reunion that will be. I love you Grandma Betty!!

Grandma Betty taught me to bake, pray and how to spell my middle name. Sleep overs at Grandma's were the best - from the hide-a-bed to a whole bowl of cool whip for dessert, and taking out her curlers in the morning. We each have so many lovely memories of living near Grandma - always a place to run away too, someone who always listened to your stories, made any place home, and the best person to sit next to in church (she always had a werthers). She will be missed so much; I think of her everytime I smell fresh bread, play with magnets on the fridge (she always had one with a mouse and a clock she taught all of us hickory dickory dock on) and do the pinching dance while making her cabbage fillers.

My Grandma Betty was a great inspiration to my family and me. She was such a loving person. She always was so caring to my wife. I remember living on the farm with her when I was 
young and she would bake fresh cheese croissants and cinnamon rolls for us all. I was so lucky to have her here living in Las Vegas in her final days. I feel lucky to have been able to take care once a week for the last couple months. It has been a blessing in many ways. Grandma Betty will truly be missed.

As you danced in the light with joy, love lifted you. As you brushed against this world so gently you lifted us. Your death left a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. Rest in peace sitting at the feet of Jesus. We will forever miss your laugh and sense of humor that some of us have inherited. Your faith and Godly character have always been your most memorable trademark.

I always loved visiting Aunt Betty. She would tell us stories and we would laugh and laugh while having coffee and her famous cinnamon rolls. One thing I always loved was her laugh. One memory I have is when I was a little girl and we were visiting her on the farm. I asked her if she was my grandmother too, and she said "no, but you can call me grandma if you want!" I thought that was so nice of her! I am also so glad I attended her 90th birthday party. She had such a great time...I will miss her.

As a granddaughter of Grandma Betty I always remember baking cookies and cinnamon rolls. Some of my greatest memories where our visits to the farm. Always getting to see the beautiful animals and learn to care for them. But I remember this one weekend when I was spending the night at grandmas house to bake, but the night before I had spent the night at my friends house and we stayed up all night long and when I had gotten to grandmas house I layed down on the couch while she got everything ready to start baking and I fell asleep and she let me sleep all night while she baked everything herself. And I woke up the next morning to the smell of fresh warm cinnamon rolls with extra frosting just how I liked them. And she would always let me take the clips out of her curlers when she did her hair. She never missed a birthday or a holiday just waiting to get her cards in the mail and see her at family gatherings was my favorite. So many memories of me and grandma. I will never forget the amazing times we shared together.

As I think back over the years, some of the most memorable experiences with my Mom were growing up on the farm. Every spring was time to plant a large garden. From learning how to plant the seeds in long straight rows, watering, weeding, and harvesting the crop, Mom helped each of her children to learn how to work and develop responsibility. The favorite time was during harvesting the various crops all summer and fall. From picking fresh peas, cucumbers, tomatoes, sweet corn, etc we learned to appreciate what we had and enjoying the rewards. Also a very vivid memory is coming home from grade school and Mom having something ready for us to eat, whether something left over from the noon meal or freshly baked bread, coffee cake, pies, or whatever she was making that day. 
  Mom was a great example of patience and love towards each of her children and directing them towards God's love and salvation. She will be missed greatly by all her family, but the experiences and memories of her will last our lifetimes.

I (Joy) loved my Aunt Betty so much. It was pure joy to be her niece. Every visit we made to see her these past several years especially was so enjoyable from playing games, walking, and wonderful visiting and fellowship.
Growing up close to her all my life in Nisland was always a joy. She will be greatly missed. I loved her greatly.
I (Don) echo Joy's thoughts. I grew up with no aunts, uncles, or cousins. Then I got married and what a family I inherited! I could not have asked for better. I was the closest to Aunt Betty because of our annual visits at her home in Las Vegas in recent years (she always had a "honey do" list ready for me), and I, too, miss her greatly already, but how thankful I am to have had her as my aunt. I will always cherish my memories of her.

I remember so many times my mother showed her unselfish love toward her children. One time, when I was sixteen, I wanted a new outfit, and didn't have money or fabric to make one. She let my sister and I look in this cedar chest that held her wedding dress and some nice suits she had brought out from Chicago fifteen years ago. I took one of those pretty suits and took it apart to make an outfit for me to wear to school. Nothing was more important to her than than the happiness of her children. How blessed I was to have her for a mother.

some of my memories of Betty (Mom) over the past 46 yrs of knowing her are her acceptance of me even as a 16 yr old dating her son.  Sitting on the front step or at the  kitchen table  talking, watching her bake with my children , Her love for Jesus and her family and friends; her kindness, patience and forgiveness.  It was my  privilege to be part of her family for 44 years.  I will miss her until I see her again.

Betty was not only a wonderful mother-in-law but a wonderful example of a Godly women.  Her light shined brightly and her legacy is an example of Gods Love and the love she had for God.  I am so blessed to have had her in my life and I will miss her greatly.

My dearest love is sent your way at this time it was such an honor to know such a wonderful lady, Betty was the sweetest! May she now be remembered with much love! I much appreciate the stories and privelage of doing her hair from time to time!

We will miss this wonderful woman. We remember everyone playing baseball at the farm and what a time we had laughing so hard at some of the errors we made.
She was a great aunt and made the best meals imaginable. She will be missed but we will see each other again.Our prayers are with the family at this time. All our love.

Our hearts were saddened to hear of Aunt Betty's passing!  She was always so kind and generous in hosting us all when ever we came to visit!  We send our love and prayers to you all as you say goodbye~

Betty was an inspiration and a role model to all of us.  I had never heard of Good News Clubs or Child Evangelism Fellowship.  She, Laura and Bertha shared their expertise and helped me greatly when I started teaching Good News Clubs.

We grieve for our loss here on earth, but know she is pain free and having a wonderful time in Heaven.

To the entire Brunner family....my deepest sympathy. The loss of that sweet soul will be felt by many. It is comforting to know that she is safe in the arms of Jesus now, and together she & Rein will walk those streets of gold! What a beautiful lady she was, inside & out. I will never forget her, or the investment she made in my life, trying to teach me the finer points of walking out my faith. I'm just SO sorry I was such a slow learner. Her legacy lives on! You all are in my thoughts and most sincere prayers.

At this time of grieving you, I feel myself drawn to the sister and brothers you gave me. I know it was the love you showed us while you were here that made our bond strong. You were always up for a good time or a few laughs, and you showed us how to show love by doing things for people.Your love and commitment to our father showed us how to be strong and still be soft.
I will think of you everyday and thank God he gave me you to look up to.

When I saw Betty's name in the paper today, my mind went immediately to her kitchen on the farm in Nisland and her homemade tomato soup.  Betty's kindness to me and my brothers during a very difficult time has stayed with me for over 50 years.  She and Reinhold were a safe haven in the storm of our lives and I will be forever grateful for her.  I have not seen her in many, many years but she shines in my childhood memories. God bless and keep you, Betty.

While taking care of my Grandma and watching her get weaker and weaker, I never would have guessed the sadness and loss I would feel at her passing. I am glad she is strong again but I find myself thinking of how much love and kindness she showed her whole life. How she gladly made me rhubarb pie and blueberry dumplings whenever I came to see her on the farm. How she taught all of us that you show love by doing things for people. She was always baking for someone, from her children and grandchildren to friends and neighbors.

Betty was someone who always had a smile on her face, especially at family gatherings. Her family celebrated her 90th Birthday in style.
