Billie George McMahan

Born on October 12, 1927, in Moline, Texas, Billie later moved with his family to Lometa, Texas, where he graduated high school before joining the U.S. Army. He proudly served his country during World War II from 1946 to 1948.

Billie met the love of his life, Barbara, through her sister and brother-in-law. Just two weeks after being introduced, they married on April 10, 1949. The two shared 64 wonderful years together until her passing in 2013.

Billie built a long and accomplished career in the oil industry, working across West Texas and internationally, including two years in Malta and assignments in the Arabian Desert and Persian Gulf oil fields. In 1963, he and his family settled in Las Vegas, where he began working as an engineer at the Nevada Test Site, retiring in 1993 after 30 years of dedicated service.

A proud Mason, Billie, joined the Masonic Order in the late 1950s in Abilene, Texas. After relocating to Las Vegas, he became active in the local Masonic community, later joining the Scottish Rite and a member of Zelzah Shrine. He served in various leadership roles and was honored to become Potentate in 1988.

In retirement, Billie enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, and most especially attending the sporting events of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren. His presence was a constant source of support and pride.

Billie is survived by his son, Larry (Linda); daughters, Cindy Call (Marlon) and Michi Cowger (Jim); four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. His legacy of love, strength, and dedication will live on through them all.

A visitation for Billie will be held Monday, April 14, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Palm Mortuary - Downtown, 1325 North Main St, Las Vegas, NV 89101. A funeral service will occur Monday, April 14, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 1325 North Main St, Las Vegas, NV 89101. A graveside service will occur Monday, April 14, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Palm Downtown Mortuary & Cemetery, 1325 N Main St, Las Vegas, NV 89101. A reception will occur Monday, April 14, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Palm Mortuary - Northwest, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131.
