Catherine Gilman Hawkins, 88, a homemaker, of Las Vegas, passed away Oct. 10, 2010. She was born May 15, 1922, in San Francisco, and was a 36-year resident of Nevada. Catherine was married to Wally for 65 years and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She will be missed by her many friends, church members and family. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, James and Virginia Gilman; brother, Jack; and sisters, Frances and Virginia. She is survived by her husband, Wally; daughters, Darlene and Katie; son, Wally; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Ted. There will be a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18, at St. George's Anglican Church, 7676 W. Gilmore Ave. in Las Vegas. Burial will follow at 2 p.m., at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. Donations can be made to the Nathan Adelson Foundation.
