

The angels took Charles Francis Murphy, Jr. “Murph” to be with his Dear Lord and Savior on April 5, 2020. He was preceded in death by his loving mother Beulah “Bee” Nelson and his dear sweet wife Jeanne Marie.
Charles was born on December 3, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York to Charles Francis and Beaulah (LaDeaux) Murphy.
As a young man, Murph served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a Sergeant and served during the Vietnam War as a member of the Crash Crew. After the service he continued his education and graduated with a degree in Fire Science.
Murph started his career as a fire fighter in the U.S.M.C.A.S. Engineer. Later as a Fireman with the City of Placentia, California. He served as a Fireman and Inspector for the Orange County Fire Department then went on to serve as Fire Safety Specialist for the City of Orange Fire Department in California.
Murph, his wife and family then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he served as an Inspector with the Las Vegas Fire Department. Murph has an accumulated total of 40 years serving his community as a Fire Fighter.
After moving to Las Vegas, he landscaped his back yard to look like an outstandingly, beautiful desert scene which he was very proud of. Murph became very active in a local Veteran’s Support Group where he made several close friends and supporters. They shared many stories of their years serving their Country that he held near and dear to his heart.
Charles is survived by his sisters Carol Anne Lyda (Ronald) and Jeanne Marie LaDeaux. Stepdaughter Bonnie Cohen-Sypniewicz (Jaime), Stepgrandchildren Capri and Dylan. Nieces Alicia Marie Chandler (Jeffrey), Keri Anne Guerrero (Benito), and Emily Marie Tucker. Great nieces and nephew Maya Anne Lyda Guerrero and Hayden, Zachariah, Lilah Tucker.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their love and support, with special thanks to Compassion Care Hospice.
Burial will be at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada. Burial Services are pending.
His love of others and his generous heart will be truly missed.
