Cindy Ann Asa

14 diciembre, 1956 – 13 enero, 2025
Obituario de Cindy Ann Asa
EN EL CUIDADO DE

Palm Northwest Mortuary & Cemetery

Cindy Ann Asa, née Sadek, passed surrounded by family in Las Vegas, Nevada, on January 13, 2025, under the first full moon of the year. She was 68 years old.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband, Robert “Bob” Asa; children, Ronni (Sean) Pruitt, Adam Nasadowski, and Becky (Heath Schultz) Nasadowski from previous marriage to Ron Nasadowski; stepchildren, Brian (Andrea Mancini) Asa and Michael (Kelly) Asa; siblings Peggy and Bobby (Marita) Sadek; nephews, Benjamin Etzkorn, Will Sadek, and Zac (Jenny Mathis) Sadek; and grandchildren, Adilynn, Quentin, Madison, Max, and Braelyn.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Robert and Frances Sadek, and sweet dog, Sammy.

Cindy was born on December 14, 1956, and grew up in Hickory Hills, Illinois, as the youngest of three kids. She was not only a sister, but a special friend. She listened, sympathized, and understood. Cindy and Peggy shared favorite movies, quoting lines through the years which would send them into gales of laughter that only they understood. They enjoyed once-a-year Christmas movies with their favorite snacks, Christmas crafts, outdoor games of statue and hide-and-seek in the dark with flashlights, and tons of board games.

Following the birth of her kids, Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve were family favorite holidays over the years: a time to eat, do puzzles, and laugh the loudest collective laughs at her parents’ or brother’s houses. When Ronni, Adam, and Becky were little, New Year’s Eve was for snacks, getting cozy, and toasting with sparkling grape juice. Cindy also had a knack for making ordinary days special for the kids: playing endless games with them; watching nightly Nick at Nite in the ’90s; serving as an accomplice to skipping school to visit the zoo or museum—equipped with “museum sandwiches,” of course; making the best popcorn for sleepovers; or delivering the trademark happy birthday and happy day-after-your-birthday calls over the years.

Cindy and Bob met at Bone and Joint Physicians in Oak Lawn where Cindy worked, and Bob was attending physical therapy following an injury (he called this meeting his “lucky break”). They married on August 9, 2003, and lived a peaceful life in Oak Forest, Illinois, before retiring in Las Vegas, Nevada. The pair were easygoing travel companions who had many adventures together, whether packing up after work for spur of the moment weekend trips to Michigan, taking in the views at the Grand Canyon or the Smoky Mountains, or cruising around Alaska, they simply enjoyed being with each other. Their care for one another was profound.

She lit up around her grandchildren and always seemed to enjoy being a kid again through playing with them. As her sister, Peggy, says: “Her kind heart will be missed and can never be replaced.”

If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Cindy’s name to Cure PSP: https://www.psp.org.
