Craig B. Morrow, M.D. passed away on June 24, 2018. Craig finished his medical residency at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University in 1991 and relocated to Las Vegas shortly thereafter to begin his primary care practice with Southwest Medical Associates (SMA).
Craig eventually accepted a position as Medical Director and Vice President for SMA, Health Plan of Nevada, and United Health Services, where he worked for 23 years. Throughout his administrative tenure at SMA, Craig continued to see patients regularly, a practice he felt kept him grounded in the needs of the people he aimed to serve. Craig’s father and brother are both physicians, as were many of the family friends and mentors that he held close; these relationships provided inspiration for Craig’s career, as well as kinship and community in the face of the challenges it presented.
Craig loved Las Vegas for its music, nightlife, vitality, beauty, and grandeur. As an avid outdoorsman, Craig was in awe of the mountains and deserts, the nearby National Parks and scenic wonders. He made it his mission to explore every corner—in running shoes and hiking boots, on skis and mountain bikes, solo and with friends and family. His passion for the natural world is preserved by the many memories he created in the great outdoors with the people he loved. Craig was a gentle and caring person, and his presence in all of our lives will be deeply missed.
Craig is survived by Sherri Morrow (Jones), his children Isabella and Jackson, his parents Lewis and Beneth, his brother Gib and wife Amy, his sister Tracey and husband Scott, and his nieces Nicola and Ali.
A Celebration of Life will be held July 28th, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Palm Northwest Mortuary, located at 6701 North Jones Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV 89131.
In lieu of flowers, charitable gifts be made to either the UNLV Foundation to benefit the Craig B. Morrow, M.D. Scholarship Fund at the UNLV School of Medicine or to the American Tinnitus Association in memory of Dr. Craig Morrow.
