In 1968, Crisanto graduated from high school and began college to study accounting. In 1974, he was enlisted in the US Navy where he took on the role of a disbursing clerk. During his years in the Navy he was recognized with several awards including Navy Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Award, Good Conduct Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Sea Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, National Defense Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Naval Overseas Medal. Crisanto also sought action during both the Vietnam and Desert Storm Wars.
In 1966, Crisanto met the love of his life he just didn't know it yet. He and Vivenia Galang met in high school and re-connected in 1972 at Holy Angel University and began courting. The two were married in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on March 19, 1977. Together they were stationed in Lemoore, CA (1977-79) where they welcomed the birth of their first son, Patrick Henry Flores on August 30, 1978; Guam (1980-82) with the arrival of their second son, Michael Lee Flores on April 7, 1981; Alameda, CA from 1982-83; Long Beach, CA 1985-86; San Diego 1987-94.
After 20 years of service, Crisanto retired from the Navy in San Diego, CA in 1994, although he continued as a civilian contractor for another 15 years until 2009. In 2013 Crisanto and his wife, Vivenia, relocated to Las Vegas to be near their sons and grandchildren.
Crisanto had a quiet and genuine demeanor; always sitting back, yet taking everything in. He enjoyed spending his time playing cards and watching his favorite television shows, but what really brought out his brightest smile was his family. Crisanto and Vivenia celebrated 42 years of marriage this past March, and the love they shared with each other was always evident. He was incredibly proud of his two sons, who he watched become doctors, and his eyes lit up with joy whenever he was with his grandchildren. Crisanto was a great man who was loved deeply by so many.
On December 9, 2019, Crisanto was called home at the age of 68, to rest with our Heavenly Father. Crisanto had a history of diabetes and heart disease, which were contributing factors to his sudden death.
Crisanto was proceeded in death by his parents, Georgio and Carmen (Umali) Flores; siblings: Feling Aguilar (sister), Librado Flores (brother), Alejandro Flores (brother), Severina Dela Cruz (sister) . He is survived by his beloved wife, Vivenia (Galang) Flores, siblings Louisa Flores (sister), Rosalina Selom (sister); sons Patrick Flores and Michael (Stephanie) Flores; and his adored grandchildren Grayson and Sebastion (sons of Patrick); Kenadi, Malia, Camden, and newest granddaughter expected Jan 3, 2020 (children of Michael & Stephanie).
Although, we are never ready to say our final goodbyes to those we love, we find peace and comfort knowing Crisanto is no longer feeling pain or suffering, and we will cherish the memories shared with him for generations to come.
