Crystal was born April 28, 1990 in Las Vegas, NV and is survived by her husband Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Officer Cameron Sims, her daughter Evelyn Sanchez, and her mother Wimon Thompson, along with many other extended family members and close friends.
Crystal was dedicated to her country and community. She deserves nothing short of the highest honors as an Army Veteran and as a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Officer. Crystal fought for her country in Afghanistan and continued to protect her local community as a police officer. All accomplishments aside, Crystal’s greatest honors were being a mother to her daughter Evelyn and a loving wife to Cameron.
During her hardest days, Crystal remained a devoted and loving mother to Evelyn. Together they shared special "Mommy & Daughter" dates at the park followed by a trip to their favorite yogurt shop or Starbucks. Cameron often enjoyed listening to Crystal and Evelyn’s voices fill their home with the warmth of singing and dancing. One of the most special days they shared as a family was Halloween. Not only did they enjoy watching Evelyn get dressed up and roam the streets to gather candy, but this was the day that Cameron and Crystal made a lifelong commitment to each other.
Wimon fondly remembers Crystal as someone who “always put others first to make everyone happy, despite her own needs. She was a caring, kind, and nurturing mother to her daughter Evelyn and wanted to give her everything she never had. She was a brilliant, courageous, strong, and selfless woman who was taken too soon.”
Crystal will be missed tremendously by everyone whose life she touched. She was the light to our world and will continue to shine her brilliant light from above.
In honoring Crystal’s wishes, the family requests that guests refrain from wearing black attire and to refrain from taking photos during the portion of services where the casket is open. She desired to be remembered full of health and vibrancy.
