Darcy was born in 1963 in Glendale, AZ, the oldest of three children. She was baptized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as a teenager and graduated from Peoria High School.
Darcy was a go-getter; by the time she was 16 she began working at Baskin-Robbins. In her senior year of high school, she attended her regular classes, joined the Kitten Kadette pom line, all while attending Cosmetology school. After graduating, she became a very successful hair stylist; working at several salons where her loyal clients followed.
Shortly after high school, she married and had her son Sean. After divorcing, and being the sole provider of her son, she became an analyst at American Express as it allowed her to focus more on Sean.
In 1998, she met the love of her life, Kevin Trumpower. In 1999, they married. Not only did Darcy have the man of her dreams, Sean also had the father he always wanted. She enjoyed Kevin’s doting companionship until his passing in 2013.
Darcy’s family relocated to Las Vegas in 2009 to join the rest of her extended family. She attended Pharmacy Technician School and worked at Smith’s pharmacy; she also worked as a school nurse and teacher’s assistant.
Darcy loved adventure. She loved going with her family to Disneyland, San Diego, Sea World, and anywhere else adventure awaited. She loved the ocean and dolphins. One of her fondest memories was being able to swim with dolphins at Sea World. She loved thrill rides. Her favorite rides at Disneyland were the ones that made others faint. She and Sean would always spend special time there, and after riding all the rides they visited as many shops as possible. Darcy also rode almost every zip line in a 100 miles radius: Fremont Street, Boot Leg Canyon, and the Rio Hotel roof top zip line was next on her list.
In her later years, she bravely endured ailments that prevented her from living life to the fullest and always had hope for better days when she could pursue additional adventures, her next Disney adventure was planned for late October.
