

Dennis M. Mahoney, 67, of Las Vegas, passed away June 28, 2010. He was born Nov. 23, 1942, in Winner, S.D., and was a 38-year resident of Nevada. At the age of 17, he joined the U.S. Army, where he served three years. He moved his family to Las Vegas from South Dakota in 1972 to do better for his family. Dennis worked different jobs throughout his life, but worked most of that time as a slot technician for some of the casinos in Las Vegas, retiring in 2004 from the Excalibur Hotel. He loved machining in his spare time. He was also into Nascar racing on his weekends. Dennis was preceded in death by his father, George Mahoney Jr.; stepfather, Ed Hey; son, Larry Lee Mahoney; and daughter, baby Mahoney. He is survived by his wife, Patty Mahoney; daughter, Sheila Mahoney; son, Warren Mahoney; granddaughter, Heather Ann Murray Mahoney; mother, Eva Hey; brothers, Darrell Mahoney and Jesse Mahoney; and sister, Penny Hughes. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. A second visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Sunday, July 11, with funeral services following, both at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society , the American Lung Association or United Blood Services. Dennis will be extremely missed by all who knew him. "We Love You! ...
