

Doris Knight (Grill) died peacefully on August 23, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of 81. Doris is survived by her children, Marie Cunningham and husband Sean of Las Vegas, James Knight of Milwaukee, Jennifer Smukowski and husband Raymond of Milwaukee, Peter C. Knight and wife Kathryn of Las Vegas; her sisters, Marybeth Jackson, and Pattie Frohrib from Oshkosh, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Leiliani Concepcion of Shambala, Jeffrey Smukowski of Milwaukee, and Kathleen Knight of Milwaukee. Doris is preceded in death by her loving husband Peter D. Knight and her granddaughter Honor Michele Monk.
She was born on February 19, 1937 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to Raymond Grill and Marie Gintner. She graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1955 and moved to Milwaukee where she married a very handsome usher which was the love her life. She worked for Harley Davidson and Vilter Manufacturing where as a time keeper. She was very proud that she earned those jobs because she could work and setup the time keeping computers. After moving to Las Vegas for her retirement, she got to do more of the things she enjoyed like watching baseball, taking care of animals and being with friends and family, which she enjoyed most of all. She was always willing to lend a hand to a friend, especially if they needed a ride someplace. She will be dearly missed by everyone, family and friends alike, who knew her in Las Vegas, Milwaukee and Oshkosh.
A Memorial Mass will be held in her honor 10 O’clock in the morning, Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Guardian Angel Cathedral, 302 Cathedral Way, Las Vegas, NV 89109, with interment to follow 2 pm at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
