Dorothy Perrin Ghee, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in North Las Vegas, Nevada. A native of New Jersey and the youngest of five, Dorothy’s vibrant spirit and unwavering love for her family made her a matriarch to be reckoned with a guiding light to all who knew her.
Dorothy's life was one of movement, growth, and deep connection. She journeyed across the country, making homes and memories in places like California and Virginia before finally settling in Nevada. Along the way, she touched countless lives through her warmth, generosity, and unmistakable spark.
A proud graduate of Los Angeles Harbor College, Dorothy believed in the power of education and community. She gave back as a dedicated staunch volunteer and was actively involved in her local community, always willing to lend a hand or share her wisdom.
Dorothy’s passions were as diverse as they were enduring. A skilled seamstress, she found joy in sewing and creating art. She had an eye for beauty, particularly appreciating the elegance of Asian décor. She also had a competitive streak and a love for sports, never missing a chance to cheer on her favorite teams.
She is survived by her devoted son, Stephen Young, and his cherished wife, Natasha. Dorothy was a proud and loving grandmother to AnnaLisa Phornprapha, Jasmine Young, Cameron and Christian Young, who brought immense joy to her life. She was predeceased by her husbands Donald Ghee and Boyd E. Young, and her dear son Gregory Ghee.
Though she has left this world, the legacy she built with strength, humor, and heart lives on through the many friends and family who loved her dearly.
Dorothy Perrin Ghee will be remembered for her fiery spirit, her endless care for those around her, and the way she lived life fully—never quietly, always with purpose. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
