Eleanor "Ellie" Morrison

Eleanor Jean Morrison, "Ellie", 81, of Overton, Nevada, passed away on March 2nd 2014 in Las Vegas, NV. A Celebration of life was held at 5 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2014 at Lake Mead Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Lang Officiating. (725 N. Moapa Valley Blvd, Overton NV 89040) Burial will take place at Davis Memorial Park in Las Vegas, NV. Arrangements are by Palm Mortuary. Ellie was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Walter and Mary Uminn on September 11, 1932. She attended Gobles High School and worked as a waitress until moving to Nevada in 1960 where she met and married the love of her life, Jim Morrison. Together they raised two daughters. Ellie was an active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary for many years, and enjoyed hobbies that included baking, sewing,  crochet, playing softball and fishing. Ellie is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Walter and John, sister Frances, and her beloved husband of 51 years, Jim Morrison. Ellie is survived by her daughters MaryEllen Morrison, Jo (Wes Crane) Morrison, granddaughters Roberta (Scott) McCarter, great-grandson Dylan James McCarter, siblings Rose Marie, Charmaine, Charles, Anna, Ed, Louis, Marion, Tom and Bill, and many nieces and nephews. We wish to extend our sincere thanks to the Moapa Valley Emergency Volunteers, staff of Valley Hospital, Nathan Adelson Hospice, and our many friends and family for their endless love and support.
