Faith Mable Luiting

A lifelong learner, she earned a BA in Philosophy from Cal State Dominguez Hills and an MA in Education from Cal State Northridge. She was an educator at heart, dedicating her career to teaching at business schools in Los Angeles, working as a junior high school teacher for the Los Angeles Unified School District, and serving as an Assistant Dean.

Her love for travel took her around the world, visiting the Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece, China, and countless places across the United States. An avid reader, she believed that reading and research were the keys to freedom from ignorance. She also had a deep passion for political debates, never shying away from a good discussion.

She was a devoted and faithful member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 41 years, inspiring and supporting many on their journey to recovery.

Above all, she was a woman of strong opinions, sharp wit, and an unforgettable presence. If you knew her, you knew she was never at a loss for words—whether in conversation, in the classroom, or in a spirited debate. As she would say, “We all have caught that smoke.”

Preceded in death by her parents, George Robert Scott and Helen “Madea” Lenora Scott; her first husband, Randolph H. Eason Jr.; her second husband, Klass Luiting; her daughter, Wanda Champion; and her siblings, George Scott, Stanley Scott, Bertha “Scottie” Mae Grant, Shirley Butler, Marjorie “Margie” Roberts, and Joyce Scott.

She is survived by her sister, Kay Sue Johnson, her children, Audrey Champagne and Randolph H. Eason III; her grandchildren, Keelan Miskel, Terry Faith Champagne, Ryan Champion, Ashley Champion, and Vaughn Eason; and her great-grandchildren, Riley Nicole Stevenson and Harley McDaniel. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
