Gail and I went to Jr Hi (Cope) and first year of High School (Redlands) together but we didn't meet until about 40 years later.  We finally met thru my parents when I moved to San Antonio and Gail and Chere welcomed me into their lives.  I asked Gail one day why we never met in school.  He said: " we travelled in different circles then.  Your Dad would not have allowed it!  I (Gail) was Peck's Bad Boy in those days!"  Well, Peck's Bad Boy turned into an outstanding man.  I'm glad we finally met and I will miss him very much.
My heartfelt  condolences to Chere and their family.

Uncle Gail, 
You were always so sweet to me! I will always remember the week I stayed with you both! I love talking with you and learning about your life! 
I know the Bible says to be absent from the body is to be present with God! 
Your body will be all new and out of pain!

We are so saddened of the passing of Babe. Rick and I have many memories of our time spent you all and hated to see you move from San Antonio. We still miss you guys. We remember some of the stories Babe shared with us. He was a great storyteller and so full of life and fun. He was a good friend and we loved him. I know he will be missed by all, especially you but know that he will always be with you in spirit. We love you Cherie and we pray the Lord’s blessings of peace, strength & comfort during this season of your life. ❤️🙏🏻

Cherie and Family,   Where to begin, Randy knew Gail since he was a young man. His mom was friends with Gail and called him Lucky.  Valetta Met Gail through GTE and became fast friends with both Gail and Cherie. We have so many wonderful memories of Super Bowl parties and get together’s. We visited in San Antonio Texas.  Both Cherie and Gail always  made us feel at home and welcome. Gail always had a smile on his Face.  We are so proud to have called him our friend. We will miss him so much 💕

Gail was a big part of my daddys life. Which in turn he became a big part of ours. He was family i will miss him dearly. Sending hugs & condolences 2 his loved 1s. 

If Gayle liked you, you knew it and if he was your friend, you were secure in that.
As a new neighbor, one of the first things Gayle told me was if he had known about our four dogs, he would never have moved in. He added that he had rethought that position. I guess the dogs, Charlie and I had made the cut.
Over the years I learned he could occasionally be blunt, but it was because of his honesty and convictions and never a desire to hurt anyone. He loved his family, and he loved his country.
While I see him a figure worthy of Mt. Rushmore for those admirable qualities, there was a lot more to him that I liked. He was a big softie when it came to his dog Mitch. He watched out for his neighbors and was generous with his time. He was fun to talk to and fun to argue with. The boy could eat! He did not cheat at board games.
 Gayle was a good man, a blessing in my life and in many others as well. He will be remembered, and he will be missed.

  I met Gail for the first time while laying flat on my back in the hallway of Cope junior high school in between classes during a fistfight. Another friend of mine introduced me by pointing down at me and saying “that’s him”. I don’t think Gail was all that impressed. Something clicked though and we became best friends. 
  We actually joined the Marines after going to the recruiters to have something to do. The Marine recruiter caught us in the Navy recruiting office and said “WTF are you doing in here  with these squids?  We figured anyone who could do that to someone in their own office was a complete badass and we were hooked. 
  So many memories, motorcycle rides, fishing, golf. I can’t believe he’s gone.   I’m devastated and know that it can’t compare with the sorrow that you all are feeling right now.  Please know that we are thinking of you and praying for your comfort.

I met Gail in 1962 ,my husband Jon’s best friend. They went through middle school and high school and joined the Marine Corp. together. That sealed the fact, that they truly became “Brothers” . 
We have a million happy memories as our lives went from kids to parents ourselves. 
Wish we had more years with you, but we will treasure the ones we were given! 
Rest In Peace Marine, until we meet again!

Dear Cherie and family,

We have so many fun and fond memories thru the years of Gail. We are so fortunate to be his friend. 

All the parties Cherie and Gail hosted for GTE/Verizon coworkers and friends will always be remembered and cherished.

Gail greeted you with his big welcoming smile and had a way to let you know he was glad to see you.

We will miss you Gail and know you are feeling good again and probably played a round of golf already.
