Geneva was the definition of kindhearted and sweet, with a snarky sense of humor and a strong will that carried her through life. Competitive by nature and loyal to those she loved, she left a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to know her.
She proudly served in the United States Air Force as a squadron administrator at Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado, where she also played on the women’s basketball team—an early sign of her lifelong love of competition and camaraderie.
Geneva found joy in many hobbies. She especially loved card games, most notably 50-cent Rummy, and was a talented sewer and quilter, creating beautiful pieces with care and skill. She enjoyed gardening, particularly growing vegetables, and never missed an opportunity to try her luck at slot machines, favoring penny slots. In Oklahoma City, she delighted in feeding the firefighters at Station 54, a gesture that reflected her generous spirit. She had a deep love of pets, her beloved teacup poodles, Buddy and Sissy, who were constant companions.
Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Carmichael; her parents, Truman and Opal McDaniel; and her brother, Alvin McDaniel.
She is survived by her children: Kathy (Joel) Carmichael, Karen (Jeff) Williams, Charlie Carmichael, and Douglas (Veronica) Carmichael; her grandchildren, Megan (Jonathan Hoegland) Williams, Alisha (Kyle) Nettelbladt, Garrett Carmichael, and Evan Carmichael; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Eve Nettelbladt and Aiden Nettelbladt. She is also survived by her siblings, Dena Luis, Alfred McDaniel, and Karen Wann.
