It was the early 90’s when I became good friends with Gina’s youngest sister Sheri that I had the pleasure of meeting Gina.  Their family always welcomed us friends into their homes and we became family as well. Sunday dinners were my all time favorite with all of them in Schiller Park prior to their move to Vegas.  I loved being a part of seeing Nico, Gino and Alyssa growing up. When they started their lives in Vegas I always tried to go a couple times a year to visit. Gina always welcomed me into her home,  we would hang out at the pool or Gina would meet up with us when we would go out for a night in Vegas.  Over all of these 30+ years I would keep in touch when she would come to Chicago or I made a trip out to Vegas.  We always had some good laughs and I always enjoyed her delicious cooking when I would visit in Vegas as it would remind me of the Sunday dinners in Schiller from back in the day.  Gina, you put up one hell of a fight. I will miss your laugh and “Ohmie” when I would see you! Sending all my love, strength and prayers to all of your family members who were  able to be with you every step of the way throughout your cancer journey and now as they navigate this life without you.  May you rest in paradise, pain free Gina🙏 Love Ohmie

28+ years of friendship, incredible times and memories! It's impossible to pick one or two, but what sticks out in my mind is how you made it  to my wedding and I'm grateful for that and for you doing my hair, that meant everything to me!! Can't imagine that day without you being there! 
Also our one-on-one time we had recently where it was just you and I. That is something that was incredibly special. Our conversations we had is something I will hold dear to my heart forever! Your my bestie now and forever.. Until we meet again 😘

I met Gina in the break room at Canyon Ranch Spa where we both worked. Then I learned that Natalie ( my daughter) and Alyssa and you( Chey) were all friends from when you girls  attended  Aveda institute.  What a small world. Anyway, Gina was truly a beautiful lady both on the inside and out🙏❤️🙏

Yes, that story is true and I’m so glad that I told that to you time and time again! I always looked up to you from afar. I am so glad that we got to be closer over the last few years. I just wish we all had more time together. Auntie cookie sent my mom and dad your graduation  picture and when I was in third grade, I walked around with your picture and told everyone that you were my big sister. It wasn’t a far stretch. We both had dark hair, looked Italian and resemble each other. However, all of my friends would ask well then why doesn’t she live with you  And I would reply well!  I don’t know. ;) I tried to carry that out for about half the year, but I was found out! ❤️  My heart is with your children and your beautiful sisters and amazing brother and their loving families! God bless you cuz, May angels surround you as you walk home❤️

Us girls getting together was always a good time!

I worked with Gina at Color Salon. She was always fun to be around,she  would always bring food for all of us, she loved to feed you! Even after she left Caesar’s she would keep in touch and text to say We gotta get together Deb! This was one of those times we met for lunch.  I will Miss her! RIP Gina no more suffering

From the moment I first met her, I was struck by her warmth and kindness. She welcomed me into her home and her family with open arms, making me feel like I was part of something truly special. Her genuine smile, infectious laughter, and caring nature were a testament to the beautiful soul she was.
Gina had an incredible ability to light up any room she entered. Her presence was a source of comfort and joy, and she had a way of making everyone feel valued and loved. Whether it was through her thoughtful words, her delicious home-cooked meals, or simply her attentive listening, she always knew how to make people feel special.
I will always remember the countless conversations we had, where she shared her wisdom, her stories, and her dreams. She taught me so much about life, love, and resilience. Her strength and grace in the face of challenges were truly inspiring, and I admired the way she navigated life's ups and downs with unwavering faith and positivity.
Her love for her family was evident in everything she did. She was a devoted mother, a doting grandmother, and a loyal friend. The bond she shared with her children and grandchildren was something truly beautiful to witness. Her legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will continue to live on through them.
Though she is no longer with us in this physical world, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts. The impact she had on my life and the lives of so many others is immeasurable. I am grateful for the time we had together and for the memories we created. Her love and light will continue to guide us, reminding us to live with compassion, generosity, and grace.
With that, rest in peace, Gina. You will be deeply missed, but your memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing you. Thank you for everything you gave us and for the love you so freely shared. You will never be forgotten.

I think this is the night I was wresting on the kitchen floor with Gina lol.. tequila may or may not have been involved. Haha

One of the many fun and crazy nights! Gina was always so much fun and so young at heart.  She was a little ball of energy with huge heart!

Gina and I worked together at Canyon Ranch in the early 2000’s. She was a force! Known for upselling everyone who sat in her chair.  We ate Chicken Piccata from Grand Lux nearly every week for lunch.  My favorite memory is the time we were doing side-by-side “Ice Cream pedicures” together, and the peppermint whipped (body) cream dispenser malfunctioned and blew up in my face!  It went in my eyes, my hair and down my shirt.  The peppermint was burning my eyes and I couldn’t see a thing.  She was doubled over laughing so hard she couldn’t get up.  The whole room started to laugh with her.  Even me.  We laughed about it for years.  
She had a zest for life like no one I know, and in the end she fought a valiant fight.  Her strength, her grace and her determination were an inspiration to me.  
Today I send my very heartfelt, and deep sympathy to you all, most especially to her children,  for this tremendous loss.  I will never forget her.  RIP Gina.

I worked with Gina in salons for many years while living in Vegas. She was the hardest working girl, always had a smile and always talk about the love she had for her kids and family. She was proud to be Italian. Just the mothering type girl, always bringing food and taking care of others. I’m actually lost for words, which is rare. We had so much fun at work together.  She was that girl.  The fun one. Love you, Gina 🫶🏻

canyon Ranch Spa in Las Vegas. I visit Las Vegas 4 times a year. I always come to the canyon Ranch spa. I would always ask for Gina as my nail technician. I like the way she did my manicure and pedicure. We had so much in common. Same name, middle name. We are both Italian and same faith. Gina was the nicest person. I know she was fighting so hard for this terrible illness. I can’t believe she is gone. I miss her. I am praying for Gina’s family and give my condolences during this difficult time. Stay strong.  Losing a family member is so hard. I really enjoyed getting to know. Rest in peace.

My condolences to Gina’s family. Truly a heartbreaking loss to all of you. I met Gina in high school, we became good friends. We also went to beauty school together and had many great times and lots of laughs. We did each others nails and cut each others hair. We had many fun times at Oak street Beach, running across Lake Shore Drive with our coolers and Gina with her huge boom box. She would make subs for us from her job at Al and Joes and we would drive downtown.  She was always smiling and a great friend. So many laughs together. I was very happy to be able to meet up with her in Vegas and talk about old times a few years ago.  Goodbye my friend, the world is definitely less glittery without you.

I met lyss, gina’s daughter, when we were 14, we’ve been best friends ever since, I remember vividly staying at gina’s every weekend and her getting us donuts in the morning, making the best meals, letting us have paint parties at her house or borrow her car, all the boys we went to school with having a crush on her bc she was the cool hot mom w the brightest energy, she would take us girls to stay at the golden nugget or even just having pool days there with her all the time, growing up and appreciating the relationship she had w lyss has been amazing to watch, they were mother daughter twins that bounced off each other perfectly. when lyss moved to chicago to go to hair school and would come visit, gina was always happy to have us all over bc she missed her so much, lyss moving back was so good for gina and made their relationship continue to build stronger, she was so happy to have her “lovey” back, my favorite way she talked to lyss, always asking “what are you doing lovey”, etc. I will cherish the way she treated me like her own and always had open arms to all us girls, and even my husband while growing up and he always called her momma.
a memory I will hold forever is within the last few months I visited I brought my over 1 yr old daughter to see her and bring her joy, which my daughter is usually stranger danger to anyone she’s not used to being around, but she let gina kiss her on her forehead and loved playing by her house.  she wanted to be considered another grandma to my zaylee and that she is.

Writing this with such a heavy heart. Alyssa you are the most amazing daughter and your mom was the reason. She brought you up right and you have been a strong warrior for her. She will always be with you and a part of you. The way you gave up everything to stand by her side is a testament to you and your mom’s bond and the type of loving, dedicated hardworking person she raised you to be. You’re a wonderful daughter and now she will watch over you always. So deeply sorry for this profound loss and I am here to help with anything you need.

Firstly, my deepest condolences go out to  Gina’s friends and family. I wanted to share a  story from the first time I ever met Gina to hopefully put a smile on someone’s face to whoever reads this, if possible at all, but also to remember her bright ray of light that I always remembered her as. The first time I ever met Gina was at her house with some other friends and family. I will never forget how welcoming she always was and just a happy, enjoyable, and fun person to be around. Little did I know, I was about to have dinner by the best cook I have literally ever met in my entire life. I hope my mom does not read this, but I am really not exaggerating. Gina had some lemon chicken artichokes on the menu and I was legitimately scared, being a 16 year old non-Italian, this was something I never had before. As I stare at this dish, I prepare to hate it, but also ready to put on the best fake smile this dinner table has ever seen. 8 years later and that dinner was one of the, if not the best chicken dish I have ever had, I think I told Gina something along the lines of, “I need to eat dinner here more often”.  Not too long ago one of my friends asked me who the best cook I know is and with quickness I said Gina. Not only did I admire her skills in the kitchen, but also the  relationship she had with her daughter, Alyssa was something that was special. It is rare for a parent and child to have that kind of bond and that literal “best friend” connection. I could go on for days and talk about all the great times I remember with Gina and her family and I promise it’s times I have not and will never forget. I am praying for her  friends and family through these times.
