

Giuseppe "Joe" Labianca, 82, passed away in his sleep Monday, June 16, 2014, with his wife by his side. Joe was born in Giovinazzo, Bari, Italy Sept. 7, 1931, and immigrated to the United States in 1947. He joined the U.S. Army in 1953, was a veteran of the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1955. He married the love of his life, Grace Arena, in 1959 and settled in North Babylon, Long Island, NY. Joe earned his certification as an electronics technician and worked in that field for over 40 years. Joe and Grace moved to Las Vegas in 1993 to be closer to thier sons and extended family. In Las Vegas, he worked in computer repair and also enjoyed being a Crossing Guard. Joe is survived by his wife of 54 years, Grace; sons, Anthony and John (Amy); also his sister, Carmela DiTroilo of Giovionazzo, Italy; and numerous neices and nephews. Joe was a loving husband and devoted father who will be greatly missed and will forever remain in our hearts.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church. Reception to follow. Inurnment ceremony will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Palm Valley View Memorial Par & Cemetery, inside corridor mausoleum, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
