Gray was an incredible leader and major influence in my life in my early days in the USAF at Luke AFB. His guidance helped me excel in my 11 yrs of service and beyond. I'll be finishing my 40th year in the fire service this time next year and look forward to my retirement. Thank you Gray for sound advice and for being such an incredible friend. To Gloria and the entire Grajeda family I send my deepest condolences. Gray and I worked together for over 20 years. Not only were you a great firefighter but a very dear friend and a fellow Vietnam veteran. There will always be a huge gap in my life without you being a part of it. God's speed my brother and may you forever rest in peace.

Gray was the perfect son. Ever calm and good natured. Always respectful to his parents, assisting them in any way he could. He was a family man. Marrying his high school sweetheart, before heading off to the Vietnam war. With his wife of 46 years, Gloria, they raised 2 children, a son and daughter, while mentoring dozens more children along the way. He liked kids, and they liked him. He was a dedicated man, spending his off time at school functions, field trips, coaching sports or simply taking time for those needing guidance. He was a happy, handy man, known for his crafts and tricks of the trades. He was an honorable man, his job was to save lives and fight fires. He took it very seriously. Between a USAF retirement and his civilian retirement, Gray spent a total of 46 years as a Firefighter, but, he spent his whole life, in service to others. Gray never met a stranger. He was the type of person you could talk to and lose track of time. An old soul, with a great sense of humor. Always on call to help anyone in need. Yes, he was taken from us all too soon at 67, however, his time on this earth was well spent. We pray that we can live by his example. "Gray", Gonzalo Grajeda, will forever be remembered as not just a man, but the best kind of man. He will never be forgotten and always in our hearts.

The loss of a father and husband such as yours; words cannot quantify.

Words cannot express my sorrow for your loss. As you comprehend this profound loss, let yourself cry knowing each tear is a note of love rising to the heavens.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.  Rest in Peace my friend.

Gray, sitting here thinking about all the great times we had at Nellis and Range Fire Depts. I knew you for over 25 years. You were not only my friend, and co-worker, you were and will always be my brother. I learned a lot from you. When I had problems or concerns I could always count on you for advice. You will always be in our hearts. Rest in peace my brother, you will be greatly missed. We love you.

Gray will be missed very much. I worked with Gray for many years and he always had a special way to handle any situation that would arise. His memories as a co worker and a family man will live on forever.

There are three men who crossed the path of my career, whom I consider both a mentor and a Father figure.  Gray was one of them.  Gray taught me how to be a firefighter, an Airman, and a decent, caring man.  I had no family with me during my tour at Luke Air Force Base, but I never, ever felt that way, because Gray made sure of it.  Thank you Gray for everything you taught me.  I hope I made you proud.  Rest in Peace.

Uncle Gonzalo, I am saddened by your passing.  My memory of you goes as far back as 1969 when I was 10 years old and you were courting my Aunt Gloria.  I remember the days as though it were yesterday; like a typical 10 year old I would bother you and my aunt when you were talking out in front of my grandma's house.  I remember you would offer me a dollar and my Aunt would promise to bake me some peanut butter cookies if I would disappear.  You would always give me the dollar but I'm still waiting for those peanut butter cookies. But then again maybe that's why I would never completely disappear.  Then you married my Aunt Gloria in 1971 and off you both went traveling the world with the United States Air Force.  Our similar lives and paths would cross occasionally as we visited family in what we called back home.  But I want you to know that I always looked up to you.  You were always calm, cool and collective with tons of patience, very easy to speak with, and always lead by example. You were a true patriot in every sense of the word, serving our country as a fireman in the United States Air Force and continuing on in that role in your post retirement job.  It takes a special person to be a Fireman!!   I'm so truly proud to say you were my Uncle!!!  May you Rest in Peace in the house of the Lord!!!!

Oh Gray, how we miss you so much. Thank you for the life lessons. Thank you for sharing your family with us. You were always there to guide me. You gave me support and wonderful advice and reminded me not to take some things that happen in life too seriously. You taught me so much. We will never forget you. You will always be in our hearts. We love you dearly. Rest In Peace my friend...until we see you again.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Gonzalo "Grey". He was a friend, mentor and a brother in the military fire service with whom I had the highest respect for. Stationed together at Holloman AFB in the mid 70's, and losing track of so many, I had great memories of Grey. We always knew he had our backs. My deepest condolences to his wife Gloria and his family. RIP Brother.

It's been many years since I last saw Gray--35 at least-- but the memories are no less vivid of one of the nicest and most decent human beings you could ever hope to meet.  As a young troop at Holloman and then later at Kadena, Gray and Gloria shared their home and family with a group of us--mostly young, dumb California boys--Gary Harris, Rod Couvrey, Wally Bain and others--and tried to keep us out of trouble--successful for the most part ;)  I'm very sorry to hear of Gray leaving this world much too soon and my deepest condolences to his family.
