

Gregory Calvin Munsell, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on October 31st, 2024. Greg was born to Vernon and Era Munsell on October 20th, 1949, at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California and moved to Las Vegas in 1957. Greg graduated from Rancho High School in 1967, received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from UNLV in 1971, passed his CPA exams in 1974, and received his Master’s Degree in Accounting from UNLV in 1984.
Greg was a brilliant accountant and tax advisor who spent over 50 years helping clients, colleagues, friends, and family save money, start and manage their own businesses, and pursue their dreams. Greg was a successful business owner and a proud member of the community. He contributed to many charitable organizations. Greg spent his free time pursuing many passions and hobbies during his extraordinary life. He was a talented and highly skilled cabinet maker, a master craftsman, a proud pilot, a classic car owner, an executive producer and filmmaker, and a master scuba diver. Greg was also an avid outdoorsman, a lifelong NRA supporter, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, long-distance cycling, zip-lining, chess, reading, square dancing, traveling, and spending every possible minute at his Utah cabin.
Greg’s loving spirit is carried on by his companion and partner of 33 years, Carole; his children, Matthew, Mark, and Melanie; his son-in-law Robert Miller; his daughter-in-law Leisa Pond; his brother Clyde; and his eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Shawn and his son Dirk.
Greg had a strong connection with nature, and a keen understanding of the magic all around us. His brilliance and charm touched the lives of everyone he met. A pillar of strength and a beacon of love, his absence leaves a void in our hearts. To commemorate his remarkable life and the memories we cherish, a service will be held at Palm Mortuary on 1325 N. Main St in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday, November 22nd, 2024. The viewing will start at 10:00 am and services will begin at 2:00 pm. After the funeral service, the family will host a proper celebration of life in true Greg Munsell fashion. Time and location to be announced soon.
