Gregory grew up in the View Park area of Los Angeles, where he attended Crenshaw High School. After graduating he attended Long Beach State where he met and married, Linda. This union produced two wonderful children, Eric and Kendra. He was later drafted into the Army and deployed to Viet Nam for a short time before he was injured and returned to the States.
The young couple eventually went separate ways. Gregory then met and married the love of his life, Michelle. After overcoming some struggles in his early life Gregory went on to attain an Associate of Arts degree from Los Angeles City College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cal State University, Dominguez Hills. He did this all while working full-time. Gregory was driven by an intense desire to create a better life for himself and his family. Gregory became an insurance auto appraiser for two major insurance carriers, where he worked for several years until a stroke cut his career short and he retired at 63. Despite this Greg remained optimistic.
I’ve told you something about Gregory’s accomplishments. Now, I would like to describe Gregory the man. Gregory was a loving husband and father and a fiercely loyal friend. If he cared about you, there is nothing he would not do for you. Gregory had a wicked sense of humor. He loved to make people laugh. Gregory loved his family. He was an only child, so his cousins were his siblings. Gregory and Michelle loved to travel seeing new places and enjoying new experiences together. He was a history buff who even with a failing short-term memory could recall obscure historical facts. Gregory had a unique bond with a very special group of Men known only as the “B Team”. They know who they are. Gregory would say they saved his life. And it is this life that we celebrate today. Gregory will be missed but never forgotten.
Gregory is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Francis Jett.
Gregory is survived by his wife of 36 years, Michelle; his two children Kendra (Will) and Eric; Grandchildren Will Jr, Christian and Peyton and many relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Gregory will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Palm Mortuary - Northwest, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131, followed by a reception from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
