

Private funeral services were held on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV, for Guillermina ‘Guilla’ Mercado Amill, 82, of Youngstown, who passed away in Las Vegas, NV, on July 19, 2015, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born February 03, 1933 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Guillermina was the daughter of the late Eulogio Santiago and Matilde Mercado. Guilla worked as a presser for the Penn-Ohio Towel Supply Co., retiring in 1977. She was of Catholic Faith and loved her church. Her husband Ramon, whom she married in 1948, died in 1989. Guilla enjoyed her gardening and most of all, loved spending time with her family and friends and she was a fabulous cook! Guilla was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers, and four sisters. Guilla’s memory will forever be cherish by her two sons: Raymond (Nellie) Amill of Campbell; Angel (Sherron) Amill, Sr., of Birmingham, AL; four daughters: Matilda Sanchez, Rosa Amill-Livingston (with whom she made her home) of Youngstown; Alicia (Adalberto) Santiago of Las Vegas, NV; Norma Amill of Columbus; and a special niece, whom she reared, Aida (Rafael) Colon of Painesville, OH; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; three sisters Eladia Santiago of Boardman; Edyth Santiago and Antonia Santiago of Puerto Rico; and two brothers Felix (Rose Marie) Santiago of Colorado Springs, CO; and Hector Mercado of Utica, NY; and her 3 Chihuahuas (Mickey, Chachi, and Tango). A memorial services will be held at a future date.
