I am G e r i Bedrosian. I and my husband Ken met Henry and Nedra in 1970. We rented an apartment across from them in the Tonapah Highway  Sierra Nevada arms apartment complex on Genoa Drive. We have lived in Las Vegas for 52 years; both of us retired from Clark County Scool District in education. We are sorry to learn of Henry's demise. I worked with Henry in 1984 at the old Courthouse jail and then we moved lots of our office in the back of a pickup to the new jail. Nedra brought a big basket of food for us while we set up the SOP's on the computer. Lots of fun times and that is the way he will be remembered, fun and thoughtful and always covering your back. He was a dedicated family man.

I am so saddened to hear of the passing of Henry. He worked with my dad, Glade McArthur for many years. When my dad passed away in 2002, Henry came by to the house to offer his condolences.  The last time I saw him was on my wedding day in 2009 when he was working at the lds temple, it was good to see someone on my wedding day who was close to my dad. 
I offer my deepest condolences to the Hoogland family. May God bless and comfort during this time and any future time when you long for your loved one.

Henry always lead with kindness. 
We used to see each other in the hospital parking lot and say "Hi".  Giving best wishes to who ever was going inside that time.

Henry was my first Captain to work with as an Admin Asst.  He had this great leadership style that bonded not only command staff at CCDC but also brought together many leaders throughout the Criminal Justice community here in Las Vegas.  It was my pleasure working with him.  I'm praying for his family,  R.I.P. Enrique .

Where do I begin.

Part of my life is gone with Henry's passing, he was my cousin, but he felt more like a brother to me. He always had time for me and other people that needed his advice or help.
The memories are too many to mention, I've known him my whole life.

I wish you, Nedra and family strength during these difficult times.

Rest in Peace, Henry, I will miss you.

My thoughts go out to the Hoogland family. I wish Nedra, children and grandchildren much strength and love during this difficult time. Their trust in the love of the Lord will be their support.

I know Henry throughout my whole life. Â Son of my great-aunt Cor (my grandmother's sister). ThatÂ big little cousin of my father with his 'disarming' smile.

During one of his last visits to the Netherlands we talked about his faith and me being gay. These talk has made a deep impression on me. Although his Faith rejects homosexuality, Henry said that it's up to the Lord to judge and he himself only could judge me as the man he knew for years. And that man he loved. Gay or Straight would not affect this opinion. This statement very much impressed me. I will cherish these memories forever in my heart.

Henry Hoogland was a great person. (In several different ways.)

He was and will stay an example to me and hopefully to many others.

May he rest in peace in the love and grace of his God.

So sorry to hear of Henry's passing. He was such a great man in so many ways, professionally and personally. I don't think anyone could forget his exit from CCDC. He was a memorable man. May God be with his family at this very difficult time.

                                                Henry was a great guy and did an incredible jod in a tough environment. Metro lost another good man.

I was so sorry to hear of Henry's passing because a few of us had planned to go see him when he recovered in the hospital and was able to receive visitors.  Henry was a leader and mentor to many of us in the Division, and he was someone who opened up a lot of possibilities that were outside of the status quo.  His forward thinking opened up opportunities for many of us who continue working in the Division.  Henry will be missed, my condolences to Nedra and the family for the loss of a great man.

It's been at least 21 years since I worked for (at that time Lt.) Henry Hoogland at CCDC. There hasn't been a week that has gone by since that I haven't thought of him in some way.  A kind or wise word he had for me, a funny story he told, the pride and love he had for his family.  He was an amazing person and the world is a little less bright now that he has left it.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time.

Iam so sorry to hear about Henry,s passing. He was a good Captain for me when I needed him most. My mother in Germany came down with cancer, and he made it possible for me to stay with her for  as long as I needed it. I will never forget his kindness and caring. Served Many Years with  Henry at the old jail and the new one as well, man of honor and integrity who love his family and the Lord,  Have had the pleasure of serving with him in the Las Vegas Temple in the Baptistry with the youth, I know our Redeemer and Savior said after embracing Henry he said Well Done My Faithful Servant Welcome Home !
