

Jacquelynne Lake Jacobs was born on March 26, 1934 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Moses A. Lake and Katherine Gibson. Jacquelynne attended school and graduated at Yeadon High School located in Yeadon, Pennsylvania and was a soloist in the school choir. She grew up in Yeadon. She confessed her life in Christ at an early age where she joined Bethel A.M.E. Church in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania. Jacquelynne was united in holy matrimony to Lorraine Edward Ricks. To this union two sons were born, Kevin Eugene Ricks and Scott Andrew Ricks. She later married Robert Melvin Jacobs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She began her eternal rest on January 3, 2014, at age 79, in North Las Vegas, Nevada. She is preceded in death by her parents, Moses A. Lake and Katherine Gibson. Two husbands, Lorraine Edward Ricks and Robert Melvin Jacobs, her son Scott Andrew Ricks, US Army/Retired, her loving Aunt Sarah E. Gibson and be-loved grandmother Jennie S. Gibson. Jacquelynne, affectionately known as ‘Jackie’ belonged to many organizations over the years. She has been Past Worthy Matron of Union Chapter # 46 Order of the Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliated for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Past Most Ancient Matron, Queen Melissa Court # 12, Heroines of Jericho. Past President and Lifetime Member V.F.W. Captain William M. Slowe Post # 3090 Auxiliary and a member of George T. Cornish Post # 292 Auxiliary. Jackie’s favorite pastimes included completing crossword puzzles, playing pinochle, casinos and entertaining friends and family, in particular, on New Year’s Day. She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Kevin Eugene Ricks, United States Marine Corps/Retired of North Las Vegas, Nevada and blended-sons, Bob Jacobs, Jr. and Atwood ‘Kip’ Jacobs. Daughters-in-Laws, Christal-Ann Ricks of Oceanside, California, Elvira ‘ViVi’ Ricks of El Paso, Texas and Yolanda Sullivan of North Las Vegas, Nevada. In-laws, Maryanne Johnson and Lavinia-Ricks Johnson of Dover, Delaware, Harold and Mary Ricks of West Chester, Pennsylvania, Theodore Ricks, Sr., and Joyce Dye of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. All in-laws of her first marriage have been united throughout her life and are considered as ‘Jackie’s’ brothers and sisters. Three honorary daughters, Tempie ‘Aunt Temp’ Moorehead of Forrest City, Arkansas, Evelyn Tubbs of Oceanside, California, and Helen ‘Portia’ Bundy of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Honorary “Big-Sister” Henrietta ‘Rhett’ Hayward of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; she also leaves behind grandchildren, Curtis W. Ricks, Sr. of Tulare, California, Shawn, Kenya and Patricia Rodgers of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Cosmia and Calvin Smith of Dallas, Texas, Jamie Mix of Memphis, Tennessee, Ruby Rivera and Taylor, great-grandchildren, Maritza Cherie and Steve Edwards of Fort Drum, New York, Curtis W. Ricks, Jr., Desiree and Nathaniel ‘Nate’ Ricks of Tulare, California, La Porsche Rodgers, Jaidan, Dayshaun and Quaron Gwynn of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Julian Morrell of Tarawa Terrace, North Carolina, Cayton and Chelsi Smith of Dallas, Texas, (3) great-great-grandchildren, Khylah-Germany Ricks, Taj and Nasir Edwards and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
