James Jeff Baughman, 52, passed from his earthly existence on July 13, 2011. Jeff was born in Moscow, ID, in 1958, to Mr. and Mrs. Richard J. Baughman. He was a 49-year resident of Las Vegas, where he attended Rose Warren and Adcock Elementary Schools, Garside Junior High School, and graduated from Clark High School. At the time of his passing, Jeff was the managing surveyor at Baughman and Turner, Inc. where he began his land surveying career in the 1960s “running the gun” from a milk crate for his father at the age of six. An avid outdoorsman, Jeff loved camping, hunting, fishing, and hiking in the Nevada mountain ranges. His keen sense of humor and love in sharing a good joke were his trademark. Jeff was a kind and generous man who selflessly helped his family and friends in any way needed. He found his greatest pride and most fulfilling reward in the accomplishments of his two sons whether they be in the classroom or karate dojo. Jeff’s father will miss his partnership in the office and companionship on camping, hunting, and fishing trips. His sons will miss his advice, stories, and unconditional support. His sisters will miss his brotherly love and companionship. His nephews and niece will miss his company around the campfire at Sunnyside. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia J. Baughman; and sister, Diana Lynn Baughman-Schultz. Jeff is survived by his sons, Jason and Jared Baughman; sisters, Kathryn (Bill) Wendland and Patricia (Warren D.) Cobb; six nephews and one niece, all of Las Vegas. A remembrance of Jeff’s life will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., Thursday July 28th, at Rainbow Gardens on Charleston Blvd. All who have known and loved Jeff and his family are welcome to come join them for dinner. An internment for Jeff will be held on Friday, July 29th at 10:00 a.m., at Palm Memorial Park Northwest on North Jones Blvd.
