James Vincent Benac

James Vincent Benac, a resident of North Las Vegas, NV, for the past 9 years. After a courageous 8 year battle with prostate cancer, James passed away peacefully at his home in North Las Vegas with his wife, daughter and cats by his side. James was born and raised in Joliet, IL, and graduated from Joliet Catholic High School. He was the owner and operator of Floor Masters, Inc., for over 15 years before deciding to retire to North Las Vegas to enjoy the weather and outdoor opportunities around the southwest. He was the only child born to the late John and Helen (Starasinic) Benac and was the beloved husband of Sharon (Scheuber) for 43 years. James will forever be remembered by his beloved children John (Cheryl) Benac and Yvonne (Hector) Menchaca, treasured grandchildren Jeremy and Jeanette Zimmerman and Victoria Menchaca, caring in-laws Bob and Dolores (Scheuber) Mack, brothers and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him. Preceded in death by his parents and numerous aunts and uncles. James touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. A memorial service will be held on April 30, 2012, at Palm Northwest Mortuary, Las Vegas, Nevada.
