

Janette Faye McCoy, 74, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 20. She was born in Akron, Ohio and lived there for many years. Janette was committed to working with and serving others throughout her life’s journey. Janette was a graduate of Central High School in Akron, Ohio. She attended Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, Ohio. She retired from Chrysler Corporation in Twinsburg, Ohio after 30 years of service and leadership. There, she worked in various positions including a Payroll Representative in the Human Resources Department.
Janette moved from Akron in 1999 and relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada and became of a member of Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church. She served as the church secretary, church clerk, church financial secretary, advisor of the junior usher board and President of the Usher Ministry. She developed the love for ushering while serving in Akron. She brought that love for the ministry to Las Vegas. She also held various positions with the Las Vegas Silver State Ushers including serving as President.
Janette has held the position of Financial Secretary for the Central Region Ushers and Corresponding Secretary to the National President with the National United Church Ushers Association of America, Inc. Through the years, she has proven to be a dedicated servant to the church and her community.
Janette was the daughter of Mattie Jane Stinson and Leonard Banks and stepdaughter of Hubert E. Stinson. They preceded her in death as well as her brother, Cecil Dale Banks. She leaves to mourn her passing her sister, Juanita G. Mason-Fairlawn, Ohio, niece, Shannon D. Teague (Thomas) - Westerville, Ohio and her nephew, Andre (Valerie) Reed - Houston, Texas, Two Great Nieces - Tiara Teague–Columbus, Ohio and Alexandria Reed-Houston, Texas and loving special friends Yvonne Logan - Las Vegas, Nevada and Yoanne Barnett - Silver Springs, Maryland.
