

Jerry Michael Johnston, 42, a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at Spring Valley Hospital after complications from a routine surgery. He was born April 29, 1970, in Las Vegas. Jerry attended Bonanza High School and was a 1989 graduate of Western High School. Jerry was a member of the Teamsters Union in the construction industry until the economic decline. For the past several years, Jerry has worked repairing and remodeling repossessed homes. He is survived by his parents, Carroll M. and Kelda L. Johnston; sister, Kelli; and nephews Robbie and Jordan Tschogl. Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Johnston. Jerry was a very loving, compassionate and generous person always putting his friends and family first. He gave of himself unconditionally to all those in need. Jerry loved all outdoor activities such as golfing, fishing, camping, boating, and hunting. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, August 7, with services beginning at 6 p.m. Both the visitation and services will be held at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to encourage all to become organ donors. Arrangements under the direction of Palm South Jones Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
