

We are very saddened and heartbroken to advice that Dr. Jerry Lynn Schull, Col. ret. USAF passed away while under the care of Hospice at home on May 4, 2023 after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was born in Stafford, Kansas on Oct. 4, 1938 to Jack Schull and Katherine Beck who proceed him in death and his brother Donald and daughter Debbie.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carol Schull and his children: Cheryl (Bruce) Palmer, Jerry Lynn (Vickie) Schull, Jr., Teresa (David) Melendez; his 8 grandchildren - Ashley (Bryan) Frost, Cody (_Melissa) LeMaster, Amber Adams, Marshae Schull, Jesse Schull, Brandon Melendez, Joshua (Ari) Melendez, Kyle Melendez, his 6 great grandchildren and his niece Jody Clinton Delmar. Jerry married Rosemary Emsher in 1960, the mother of his children but later divorced.
In 1964 Jerry earned his medical degree in Internal Medicine from Loma Linda University. Internship Porter Hospital, Denver, Colorado. He also earned his Gastroenterology Fellowship at University of California, San Francisco in 1966. He began his USAF Medical Corp career at David Grant Medical Center, Travis Air Force Base California, in 1966 during the Vietnam War and retired as Colonel USAF MC and Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine at USAF Reginal Medical Center, Weisbaden, Germany in 1986. He was board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and practiced medicine following his Air Force career in Napa, California where he met and married Carol in 1978.
In 1992, they moved to Las Vegas, NV for Jerry's position at Southwest Medical Associates. He dedicated his life to helping others and training residents to provide excellent and compassionate care. He was highly regarded in the medical communities where he served. In his many years of medicine, Jerry was often recognized as an excellent diagnostician.
Jerry was truly wonderful, kind, soft spoken and well liked by his peers He was a great Dad, adored by his family. His favorite things ...sports, he always read the sports page first, loved the San Francisco Giants & the 49ers - he was a ferocious reader....never without a book. In earlier years he loved to ski, hunt, fish and He loved playing golf. During retirement years, he truly enjoyed Paint by Number kits. He completed so many and always donated lots and lots of them. Jerry truly was a wonderful man and handled all his treatments with a rare complaint. He was a trooper and a true gentlemen, always ready to help others with tech issues. He was always so well liked everywhere. His loss is so painful.
A Celebration of Dr. Schull's life will be held at Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 11 am. Private arrangement for family only at Boulder Military Cemetery on Friday, July 14, 2023.
A celebration of life for Jerry will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129. A reception will occur Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129. A committal service will occur Friday, July 14, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:40 AM at Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
