He married Mary Peters on October 25, 1968, in Kimball, Nebraska, and their love was a cornerstone of his life. He worked as an Iron Worker for Local 433 and was an Army Veteran. His life was filled with joyous moments, from his love for golf, word searches, playing FreeCell, watching Westerns and Judge Judy, to taking long drives with his best friend "Boss." He affectionately referred to Boss and Cici, his beloved pets, as his "fur babies."
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Nolan and Gracie; five sisters, Toni, Gail, Sandra, Katherine, and Nona; and five brothers, Clyde, Delane, Timmie (his twin), Dennis, and Neal.
Jimmie leaves behind his wife, Mary, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. His children Kelvin resides in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and Tiffany lives in North Las Vegas, Nevada. Jimmie has three surviving brothers: Rayburn, Ralph, and Virgil. He also leaves eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many extended family members.
Jimmie's infectious laughter and warm smile, which brought joy to all who knew him, will be sincerely remembered. The family of Jimmie wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who have shown their love and support during this difficult time. Your kindness and support have been a source of immense comfort and strength, and we sincerely appreciate the community's outpouring of love. Your presence and support mean the world to us.
When I must leave you for a little while, please do not grieve and shed wild tears and hug your sorrow to you through the years, but start out bravely with a gallant smile; and for my sake and in my name live on and do all things the same. Feed not your loneliness on empty days, but fill each waking hour in useful ways. Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer and I in turn will comfort you and hold you near; and never, never be afraid to die, for I am waiting for you in the sky.
