A gentle giant with a smile that could light up a room, Jimmy Rivera was born on September 4th, 1967, in Los Angeles, California. Jimmy was the youngest of six children born to the union of Juan and Emma Rivera. Jimmy was raised between Los Angeles, El Paso, Texas and Canoga Park, California.
Jimmy attended public schools and enjoyed playing basketball. He was excited when he made the High School Basketball Team in El Paso. Once his family relocated back to Los Angeles he became a LA Laker Fan, a true Blue Dodger Fan and USC fan!
Jimmy was a very dedicated employee, working as a team player and never hesitated in helping his co-workers when asked. He worked for Radio Shack in his younger years and also worked in the tile industry to name a few.
Jimmy was married to the love of his life, Stacy. They met on 1995 in Las Vegas. They were introduced by Stacy’s friend and Jimmy’s co-worker, Susan Hunter. Their courtship continued and were married on June 29th, 2002 in Las Vegas. This union produced three beautiful children, Spencer, Lindsay and Emmie.
Jimmy was the best Dad. He was always participating in family activities and school activities with the children. He received a recognition award for Most Active Parent! He enjoyed going to the movies with Spencer and going shopping with Lindsay and of course going to the car dealerships with Emmie for their Saturday night walks. He so much loved and praised his children, always encouraging them to follow their dreams!
Besides watching football games, Jimmy enjoyed watching reruns of ”I Love Lucy “ and “That 70’s Show” sitcoms. No matter what episode he was watching he knew the script line by line. He also enjoyed going with Stacy to concerts and enjoying live music. Their favorite date night was going to the bar at Chili’s, having dinner and enjoying the current sports on the tv.
Jimmy left an imprint on everyone he encountered. He was a humble, thoughtful, and sensitive man who was loved by all who knew him. Jimmy accepted people for who they were and for this he was adored. We were blessed to have such a loving and caring man in our lives.
Jimmy had many titles in his lifetime, son, husband, dad, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He wore each title with honor and dignity!
Jimmy transcended this life on Sunday January 27th, 2019, leaving to cherish his memory is his wife Stacy, his children, Spencer, Lindsay and Emmie; his siblings, Rudy, Yolanda, Martha, Johnny, and Yvonne; 10 nieces and nephews, 20 great nieces and nephews, 2 great great nieces and nephews; other relatives and dear friends.
