John Robert Csizmar

John was born September 17, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio to John and Estelle Ostrowski Csizmar. John served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed at the air base on Okinawa. While on military leave he married the love of his life Katherine T. Breit in June of 1952. They were a couple for more than 70 years until her death on May 9th 2022. After John returned home from Okinawa he attended the University of Toledo and received a Mechanical Engineering Degree. He then went to work for the Army at the Rock Island Arsenal as a Weapons Specialist. He continued to work for the Army until he retired. John enjoyed fishing, traveling, photography, dining out, and spending time with his family. He moved to Las Vegas in 1998 to be closer to his family and enjoyed many years of retirement with them. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife Katherine, mother Estelle, father John, and his beloved dogs Harley and Rusty. He is survived by his son Steven Csizmar, daughter Carolyn (Keith) Brooke, and grandson Jonathan Brooke. All of Las Vegas.

Visitation will be held at Palm Mortuary - Downtown, 1325 North Main St, Las Vegas, NV 89101, US, on April 12, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

He will be laid to rest at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Mem, Boulder City, NV 89005, US, on April 17, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
