It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Judith Ann Parish (Wheeler), who left us on February 14, 2025. Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose joyful spirit, wit, and creativity touched the lives of all who knew her. Born and raised Catholic, Judy held her faith close throughout her life, a steadfast source of strength and inspiration.
Judy's infectious smile, sharp humor, and devotion to her family defined who she was. She was known for her quick wit, her clever sense of humor, and her ability to make everyone around her laugh. But it was her love for her family that was the core of her being. She adored her husband, children, and grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will be treasured for years to come.
Judy’s creative talents were many, and she was particularly known for her gift as a cartoonist. Her personalized holiday cards, each featuring humorous caricatures of her family members, were always a highlight of the season.
Judy was not just a grandmother—she was the heart and soul of the legendary “Granny Camps.” For days at a time, her grandchildren would come to stay with her, where she would host a fun-filled mix of games, walks, swimming (with Judy as the ever-vigilant lifeguard), and endless conversations. Her home was a safe haven where love, laughter, and memories were made.
A passionate traveler, Judy found joy in exploring new places, especially museums. Her favorites included the British Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Field Museum in Chicago, and the Louvre in Paris. Judy didn’t just visit museums—she immersed herself in their exhibits, learning and reflecting on the stories and history they shared.
Judy was also deeply committed to giving back. She regularly donated to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital, reflecting her caring nature and unwavering desire to make the world a better place.
While Judy may have struggled with the practicalities of adult life, she embraced the beauty of creativity and joy with open arms. She made those around her feel special, loved, and heard, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
It’s said that heaven has the best of everything, and we can’t help but imagine Judy enjoying two things she loved: sipping Diet Coke and indulging in Dilly Bars. Her creative spirit is undoubtedly shining down, laughing with joy as she enjoys these treats in heaven.
Judith Ann Parish is survived by her loving husband of 56 and a half years, James "Jim" Parish; children Melissa Antonides (Allen), Christopher Parish, Mikken Kilroy (Craig), Colleen Parish (Kimberley), Randall Parish, and Brooke Tripp; grandchildren Casey and Annabel Antonides, Amelia Dickinson, Will and Josephine Parish, Angus, Alistair, and Fiona Kilroy, and Elizabeth, James, and Abigail Tripp; and siblings Edward Wheeler (Lori), Mary Benedict (Tim), and David Wheeler.
A memorial service for Judith will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Palm Mortuary - Northwest, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131, followed by a reception from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital, a cause that was near and dear to Judy’s heart.
