Sgt. Justin Lamar Williams was born on December 27, 1988, in Bakersfield, California, to Kathleen Williams (also known as Mama Kat) and Billy Joe Bagsby Sr. Justin was the youngest of six children. From an early age, Justin dreamed of becoming a police officer. He would walk around making siren noises, already seeing himself in a uniform long before it became reality. That childhood dream would later become a decorated career of service, dedication, and leadership.
Justin attended several schools in both Bakersfield and Las Vegas, ultimately graduating from Bakersfield High School in 2007. After graduation, he joined his older brother in Las Vegas and began his journey in law enforcement by participating in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Explorers Program. He worked at Gaudin Ford before becoming a correctional officer and later proudly served as a police officer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Over the years, Justin rose through the ranks of LVMPD and served in multiple divisions: Correctional Officer, Patrol Officer, Flex Team, Crisis Negotiator, Explorer Advisor, Detective serving within the Vice, Narcotics, and Overdose Response Team, Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, and most recently with the Tactical Operations Section assigned to the Safe Neighborhood Bureau - Vice Unit.
Known for his integrity, sharp instincts and professionalism, Justin was also deeply respected for the compassion, humor, and leadership he brought to every assignment. He had served with honor since 2011.
Beyond the badge, Justin was a multi-talented individual. He was a gifted and passionate singer whose voice moved all who heard it. He had the honor of singing the national anthem at numerous Las Vegas Aces games and various charity galas, always representing his department and community with pride.
Justin was kind-hearted, goofy, and full of life. He loved to laugh, play pranks, travel and sing karaoke with his friends, especially country music. To know him was to know joy. He was a true character, unforgettable in every way. If you asked Mama Kat, she’d say he got it all from her. He lived life to the fullest, making sure those around him did, too.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to his family and friends. He played a significant role in the lives of his nieces and nephews, many of whom affectionately called him "Uncle Dad." His memory will continue to live on through those he mentored, loved, and inspired.
On July 30th, 2025, Justin departed this life.
