Kendall Russell Hogan of Beaver Dam, Arizona - born on March 5, 1941 - died at his home on Monday January 13, 2014. The son of Harvey and Edith Hogan, he was the youngest of five children of a hard - working farming family. His brothers Ken and Keith, and his sisters Vivien and Virginia, all attended Dexfield High School in Dexter, Iowa. Kendall Hagan graduated from Dexfield High School in 1961. After trying his hand at farming and working as a school bus driver, Kendall decided to follow his mother Edith in taking up California as his home. Shortly after moving to San Diego, he met and married Gloria (Fearry) (Edmunsten) (Hogan) Cardillo, and they were wed at the Silver Bell Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 30, 1972. Kendall welcomed his first and only son into the world on October 12, 1972 in San Diego, California. Having worked for several years at La Jolla Seville in the maintenance department as a steady and trusted employee, (as he would continue to do, at every job) Kendall began to build a strong work history; as opportunities presented themselves, he would eventually travel first to Phoenix, Arizona and on to Albuquerque, New Mexico where Kendall's first and only daughter Crystal Hogan (Watson) was born on October 21, 1974 Many productive and adventurous years followed as the Hogan family traversed the western United States in pursuit of gainful employment, settling eventually in Santaquin, Utah where Kendall found lasting employment as a operator at the Payson Municipal Water Treatment Plant, where from 1988 until his honorable retirement in 2004, he worked and saved to put his children through school and to support his wife Gloria, a homemaker and mother to his children. Sadly, Gloria and Kendall were divorced in 1998. Upon retirement, Kendall sold the homeplace in Santaquin, and moved to Beaver Dam, Arizona in 2005. In retirement, as "Hardluck" Hogan, He enjoyed adventurous outdoor pursuits, including prospecting for minerals, camping, and exploring the natural mysteries of the American west. Of course, he found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandkids: Jordan, Natalie, Emily and Ashley. IN 2012, Gloria Cardillo came to live in Beaver Dam with Kendall, the couple being happily reunited several years after the death of Joseph Cardillo, Gloria's husband of late. From the time she returned in 2012, until his untimely death this Monday, Mrs. Cardillo was a constant companion and caretaker to her former spouse. He is survived by his brother Keith Hogan; his son, Jon Hogan; his daughter, Crystal Hogan Watson; his son-in-law, Jeremy Watson; and his ex-wife, Gloria Cardillo.
