

Kent was born in Monticello, Utah, on March 20, 1960, to Allan and Marie Laidlaw. As a child, he was known for his calm spirit and love of sports, games, and friendly competitions. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Little Rock, Arkansas Mission, and started his college career at Dixie State College and later graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
Kent married his best friend and the love of his life, Robyn (Baldwin), in the St. George, Utah Temple on July 15, 1988.
Throughout his life, Kent was known for his kindness, gentle nature, generosity, sense of humor, and his love of golf and the gospel. He leaves behind a legacy of quiet service and unwavering devotion to those around him. He had a special gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved, and his influence will continue to be felt by all who knew him. One of Kent’s greatest joys was being “Papa Kunta” to his grandchildren and cheering them on at their many sporting events and activities.
Kent is survived by his loving wife, Robyn; his four children, Bryan, Robyn (Dave), Kristen (Logan), and Scott ; and his seven grandchildren, Olivia, Sophia, Beau, Duke, Dash, Jett, and Rad.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 6pm to 8pm at the LDS church on 6051 Dorrell Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89131.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 29, 2026 from 11am-12pm at the LDS church on 6051 Dorrell Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89131, with burial to follow immediately after Palm Northwest Cemetery, 6701 N Jones Blvd Las Vegas, NV 89131
