When you loved being scared. I'd hide and scare the hell out of you...you loved it....then one night I put a scream mask on and took the dirty machete and chased you ....it bounced off the floor and stabbed you between the eyes.....you were like 4 ....dad was in the shower and I was using my shirt to stop the bleeding....let's just say that's a love scar you had in between your eyes ....good but scary times lol....love you buddy

I’ll never have the words. You were my brother. I love you always. 

We met Kyle when we were in Guam. His laugh was contagious.  His energy was magnetic. He was always up for an adventure.  You will be missed friend. It was an honor knowing you.

Dad- I love you more than you know, but I also know there is a hole in our hearts but a bigger one in yours, Kyle was you best friend, pride and joy, and your grunt. Kyle you either were bringing the adventures to us or out creating the adventure, I miss you so much

You absolutely did everything you wanted, we miss you so much 

I had to be super sneaky to take this photo but it’s such a good one. His smile is just simply breathtaking. This was the first night I ever got to hear him sing AND play guitar for me. I cried like a baby. The talent and passion he has for music is beautiful. I don’t think there was anything this man couldn’t do. I love you handsome. I miss you so much. 

I will always love and remember the little boy I first met that would wipe his nose on his Dad's pant leg or the young  man that was a usher at our wedding.  Nor, will I forget the man who joined the Army  to serve his country. We were shooting buddies and would go to gun shows together.  Each time I think of Kyle I see the man who always greeted you with a enthusiastic "What's up, man!", a smile as big as heart, a hand shake, and a hug. And when he said good-bye would have to include "my Jeep is taller than your Jeep". Love you Kyle!

Kyle I still see your smile and will miss it, and your outgoing zest in everything you did. I miss you, and loved everything about you.

Every year my family and I turn our house into a haunted house for halloween. This years theme was the purge. As soon as I told Kyle about it he instantly went out and bought a chainsaw. It’s rumored you can still hear the screams of children and adults from the terror they had from that chainsaw. The energy that Kyle had that night was just unreal. The joy he had when he made a grown women pee her pants, I can still see his huge smile. 

Passion for adventure, big heart, leader of The Pack. Thank you for showing us the way. 

Kyle loved legos, and all things Star Wars! He got me to watch it for the first time, and I fell in love with it seeing how much he loved it. 
He had an enormous heart for children, and I was consistently testing his patience with all the kiddos I brought around/all the things that we would break at our house. He did not ask for a lot, but he always expressed the desire to be a Dad. He wanted a family of his own one day. It pains me to think that he will not get this chance, Kyle, you would have been a phenomenal father.

This message is for my boyfriend from high school, Kyle. This year I celebrate my 10 year high school reunion and the memories we shared can never be replaced. I’ve always loved our friendship ￼and these sweet, sweet memories. 
I met you in my history class. You were the first boy to ever meet my parents, and my parents to meet yours. You brought me home souvenirs from a Disney trip you took with your family. You knew my nickname was Tigger in my house, so you brought me a glass Tigger statue from Disney, which I’ve kept to this day.   You were the loudest, funniest guy in the room. You had many talents…and always surprised me and took me out of my shy, comfort zone…like in this video. For Valentines Day you brought our school mariachi band into my health class to sing this song, which now makes me think of you every time I hear it. 
Back in these days, we didn’t have phones with great cameras… And a student just happened to have a handheld video camera in this moment. 
We were just kids then. 
I miss you. My prayers are with your family. I will see you again one day. Rest easy, Kyle Canada.

When dad got us tickets to see Alabama shakes. We walked in for the intro song walked out and found ourselves to busy drinking and gambling.

Prom night, you decided a week out. Dad and I rushed got you ready and you had a great time! 

I'm heart broken that my beautiful friend has left us. Kyle was part of our lives in middle school when he played in the Las Vegas Youth Orchestra with my daughter and throughout her high school years at the Las Vegas Performing Arts Academy. I remember going to the Ren Fair and his brilliant humor as well as musical tastes. I wish I had been able to stay in touch with him after his high school career ended. The world is a lesser place without him.

Kyle and I bought this shirt together at an oddities expo. He sent me this photo after he got back from running errands. He told me that a lady made a comment about how it was tasteless and he replied back with “actually, I think it’s imitation grape flavored.” 

I didn't want to believe the news when I saw it. I feel like I grew up with you! From youth orchestra to ren fairs to practicing German, you were always that piece of my life that made everything that much more fun. My Mom ADORED you when you would come over and eat her amazing cooking, you would even go for seconds. You tried for thirds once and still tried to eat dessert after. I thought you were going to be sick on the ride over to rehearsals. Our lives went on different paths, but I'm so glad to have known you and spent time hanging out doing goofy stuff. You will always be one of my most treasured friends and I will never, ever forget you. You always knew how to light up a room and make people laugh. My Mom put it perfectly when I broke the news to her, "The world is definitely a lesser place without you."


From the first day I met Kyle when he got to WA I knew he was a great guy. He was always hyped and brought the party with him everywhere he went.
We had a group of us (a few techs and a few civilian friends) that were going to go to a showing of Rocky horror picture show. It was the kind where it's played on the screen and there are actors dressed up as well. Where you yell and throw popcorn and what not. Kyle talked us into all dressing up in drag and going that way. So a group of Kyle, Martin, Sandra, and myself (all techs) and my gf Erika, Katelyn and her bf. All of us in drag going through downtown Tacoma to go to the show. (I had a picture of us all and can't find it anywhere). It was one of the best times I have ever had. We all were laughing and making a scene the whole night. We (thanks to him) stole the show that night. We then went out and got food still in drag. Took photos with so many people making everyone's day full of laughter and memories. 
I have so many more stories and memories with Kyle. He will live forever in my heart and until we meet again my friend.

How do you summarize a decade of friendship and love? I'm not sure I ever could. Kyle was an absolute lover of all things horror. Me? Not so much, however, I learned to love it with time. We would spend hours talking about the supernatural, ghosts, spirits, and what ifs. I am not ready to say goodbye, I hope you come and haunt me like you always promised.

Titanium walrus was the name of their cover band. They rocked out to kiss for our senior talent show. 

He was great guy, musician, and singer, along with being a good tech!!

Last few days as seniors at LVA. You gave the best hugs Kyle. I’ll miss you dearly 

We were waiting for pizza and the pizza guy couldn’t find us so kyle came out with the road flares and him and grant flagged the pizza guy down. It was a classic thing kyle did he always made me laugh. 

New Years 2015 - Kyle spent with me and my family down town at the D. I was happy to be hanging out with him for the short time before he had to go back to Washington. 

 My life would be radically different had Kyle and I never met, let me tell you why.

 I write this memory while sitting below a board containing a picture of him and I, along with many others on the Destin beach together in 2012. I made the board many years ago, with what I consider some of my best memories in picture form, and Kyle was part of it.

One day in 2012, while in EOD training in Florida, I mentioned I wanted to go skydiving for the first time, and asked if anyone wanted to go. During training, we were not supposed to do anything "high risk", or go beyond a 50 mile radius. Kyle, being spontaneous, was the only person that agreed to go. So we split the driving on our nearly 1,000 mile round trip, in my car that didn't have working air conditioning. I forgot to mention it was on the opposite side of Florida, too.

After a 7 hour drive, we got there Saturday afternoon, and it was too windy to jump, so we had to kill some time until the following morning. Lucky for us, it was next to Cocoa Beach, and the Kennedy Space Center, which we went to check out. There was a super cool IMAX movie about space, and we were so excited that we sat first row, front and center. 

Unfortunately, we were both so exhausted from our ongoing training and driving that we fell asleep, only to wake up at the end when everyone was leaving. We didn’t want to spend money on a hotel that night, so we slept in my car behind a sketchy gas station, and woke up the next day to complete our very memorable first skydives together. 

He agreed to go with me, even when no one else would – and because him, I discovered my love of skydiving. Since that day, I decided to become a skydiving instructor myself, having completed roughly 3,300 jumps since our first jump together in 2012. Now I can take others on their very first jumps, and see them make priceless memories together as Kyle and I did. 
 
My life would be radically different had Kyle and I never met, and I’m glad we did.

This is the time I gave Kyle a hair cut cause he spent all his money trying to get his car from 1950 to work.  

As many have already said, Kyle simply lit up a room with his humor.  He was witty like no other and quick with a joke.  

He was generous, loyal, and above all a good human.  Kyle, you will be sorely missed.  

One lovely night we all went for dinner in Guam. As usual, Joe and you had to one up each other and get the next level spicy pad thai dish. 

Kyle "I'll take Level 7", Joe "I'll take Level 8", Kyle "Sorry, I meant Level 9", Joe "ma'am I meant Level 10", Kyle "Yes, ma'am I meant Level 10 too."

Both of you were sweating and had red faces while trying to eat, but of course you BOTH had to make sure to finish the whole plate. The cook was laughing in the kitchen watching, all the while Jacklyn and I enjoyed our meal also laughing at you 2. 

Us 4 were always on the side laughing our way through every event we went to. 


Kyle loved his grandma Helen. He brought her over to get her hair cut. We had such a great time and Helen enjoyed herself. Kyle gave her a glass of wine, that’s how he rolled 

Kyle, my heart aches. My baby brother. I love you so much and I'm going to miss you terribly ever single day!

I was in Kyle’s EOD school class and most of not all of my goofy stories involve him. Every instructor seemed to love his sense of humor. We went to lunch at Whataburger one day and by the time he almost finished his chicken sandwich he realized it wasn’t all the way cooked. Instead of accepting that he might get food poisoning he decided to try to throw up before going back to class. I wish I could say I was close to him after all these years because he was always making those around him laugh and have a good time.  He will surely be missed. We can’t always know the pain and hurt that our loved ones experienced but we can know with certainty that they are now at peace. My thoughts are with everyone who knew Kyle as he certainly was a light in their life. Til Valhalla Brother!

We met climbing in Guam, got along great and had planned on climbing once I got back to the US. Sorry we never got to meet up and explore, I know you’re in heaven doing what you loved! May you Rest In Peace. Til Valhalla!

I met Kyle when he was here in Guam doing UXO work. I had the pleasure of teaching him scuba diving and we had some great times. I will remember his cheerful attitude and how quick he was to make a joke. He will be missed. 

Kyle my heart is so broken I'm so sorry. 
You know how much I love you. I lost my wonderful son and my best friend....
