

Layton was born on November 28, 1995 at St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson, Nevada. He was born to Mark and Scarlet Cline. Layton was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a young child, Layton was optimistic in his outlook. He sought out the possibilities in a given situation and looked for ways to apply his creative energies. Layton rarely called attention to himself, but when he did speak out, his message was clearly understood by those around him. He was raised with four sisters. He had one older sister, Shelby, a twin-sister, Sierra, and two younger sisters, Lindsay and Madison. Growing up, Layton took part in Tae Kwon Do and BMX racing. He was in Awanas. In his spare time he liked playing video games and taking part in outdoor activities. Layton’s faith was important to him. He was a member of Canyon Ridge Christian Church for 15 years. Layton's passionate commitment to upholding his values placed him at home in his religion, where he took comfort in the company of others who believed as he did. Some of his favorite vacations included traveling across the country during summer breaks and a trip to Hawaii. Layton passed away on October 18, 2013 at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Stanford, California due to complications from Leukemia. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Ralph Cline. He is survived by his parents, Mark and Scarlet Cline of Las Vegas, NV; his four sisters, Shelby, Sierra, Lindsay, and Madison of the family home; his grandparents, Jerry and Norma Dittemore of La Junta, CO; aunt, Wilamina (David) Schindler of La Grange, NC; aunt, Laura (Glenn, deceased) Pleasants of Cheraw, CO; uncle, Otis (Desiree) Dittemore of Spottswood, VA; aunt, Estella (Larry) Boevers of Yukon, OK; uncle, David (Georgia) Dittemore of La Junta, CO and numerous cousins. His grandmother on his father's side, Lorena Cline of Dover, TN; aunt, Ann (Jim) McEndree of Steubenville, OH; aunt, Teresa Yarbrough of Clarksville, TN; aunt, Judy Kelly of Russellville, KY; uncle, Brian (Laura) Cline of Big Rock, TN; uncle, David (Maryann) Cline of Clarksville, TN and numerous cousins. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Palm Northwest Mortuary.
