

Albert Leo Mercer went to be with the Lord Friday May 8, 2020. Leo was born June 25, 1956 in Norfolk, Va. He moved to Las Vegas after completing his military service. Leo served as an indirect Fire Infantryman in the US Army from 1977 to 1984. He was awarded the Marksman Badge, NCO Development Ribbon (w/2), Overseas ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and during his tour in Korea in 1979. Leo was awarded the Army Accommodation Medal while serving as a Squad Leader in the 1/9th Infantry (Manchu) on the DMZ. Leo was proud of his military Service and we are too. He was semi-retired and worked in the video-audio production business, recently becoming employed with Caesars Entertainment.
He is preceded in death by his father Author Floyd Mercer, his mother Janie Mercer, brothers Thomas Powell and James Mercer. He is survived by the love of his life Anna Paulette Kissel, her son Nicholas Isaac and wife Layla and 6 grandchildren, brothers Gerald Powell and wife, Wayne Powell and wife and nephew Troy Mercer and niece Stacy Roberts and many other nephews and nieces. Leo always told all what made him smile was God, his church and fellowship families, his dogs Puki and Bandit and spending time with family and friends.
A memorial service will be held May 8th at 10:30 am at Foothills Baptist Church, 6405 W Cheyenne Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89108.
