Leon "Lee" Cushman was born on August 3, 1933 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. He moved his family to the United States in 1964 to work for the Kimberly-Clark paper mill in Anderson, California (later to become the Simpson Paper Mill). He worked in the paper making industry for 32 years before retiring to Las Vegas, Nevada. Lee passed away peacefully on July 20, 2020 at home. Lee had a passion for life and had many talents! He was incredibly gifted in the area of math. He enjoyed all sports, running, golf, ice hockey, snow skiing, water skiing, hunting, fishing, and camping at the ocean to name a few. He loved playing basketball but confessed he couldn't dribble the ball! He enjoyed the excitement of playing poker and slots in Vegas! He was a masterful cook and enjoyed creating his own recipes. To say Lee was a "jack of all trades" is an understatement. There was nothing he couldn't fix or figure out how to do from designing and building a patio to planting a beautiful garden. His children and friends all benefited from his ability to share his gifts and talents. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Cushman of Las Vegas, Nevada, his sons: Michael Cushman of Scottsdale, Arizona, Tom Cushman of Fort Collins, Colorado, Brendon Farrar of Redding, California, his daughter: Donna Cushman of Crossroads, Texas, his step-sons: Michael Martinez of Redding, California, and Gary Martinez of Everett, Washington. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grand children. The family would like to thank Nathan Adelson Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Nathan Adelson Hospice of Las Vegas, Nevada. A private Celebration of Life will be held in Southern California at a later date.
