It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Letizia Maria Ottaviano “Queenie,” age 38, who left this world far too soon due to complications from a lifelong heart condition. Though her heart may have been fragile, it was endlessly strong in spirit, overflowing with kindness, laughter, and love. She overcame a lot of life’s challenges at a young age, and she never let her diagnosis hold her back. She touched the hearts of many and all who met her found out how amazing she was. She will be greatly missed by all those she touched.
Letizia was a woman of radiant light—a gentle soul who made everyone feel like home. Her humor had a way of wrapping you in comfort, often catching you off guard with her wit and warmth. No matter the trial, she faced life with unmatched strength and a smile that could brighten the darkest day.
Letizia was born to Lucille Ottaviano (Lynch) and Luigi Ottaviano on December 01, 1986 in Las Vegas Nevada. Following her father's passing in 1996, her mother dedicated herself wholeheartedly to ensure Letizia could live the life she desired.
She was a devoted mother to her beloved daughter, Ava Ottaviano—truly a miracle child. Despite medical challenges that made motherhood seem unlikely, shortly after graduating from Cimarron-Memorial High School in Las Vegas, NV Letizia was blessed with her precious Ava in 2005. Letizia embraced motherhood with unwavering pride and unconditional love; Ava was her heart, her pride, and her greatest joy. Known lovingly as “Queenie,” Letizia lived a life filled with extraordinary moments. As a child, she was a Fancy Shawl dancer, proudly participating when she could at powwows—a reflection of her deep connection to her heritage. She also deeply cherished her Italian roots, by listening to Italian music and enjoying the traditional foods. One of her most treasured memories was traveling to Italy with her Nana and Uncle Mike—a journey that brought her even closer to her ancestry.
A passionate fan of horror films and a karaoke enthusiast, Letizia fulfilled a dream by singing on stage at her Uncle Mike’s concert in New York. Her sense of humor was infectious, and she found joy in guiding her nephews and niece with a gentle heart and wise words. Whether laughing with family or ordering her favorite meal—chicken tenders and fries with a Coke—Letizia left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Born into a family rich with love, she is survived by her devoted mother, Lucille Ottaviano (Lynch); Her sweet daughter, Ava Ottaviano; her three loving sisters, Vera Tulley (Ottaviano), Lauren Oelschlager (Ottaviano), Jessica Thompson (Arnold); her brother-in-laws Brandin Tulley, Robert Oelschlager, and Eric Thompson; Grandmother Maria Ottaviano, 6 nephews Gage Moore, Alva Thompson, Luigi Tulley, Carlo Tulley, Scott Oelschlager, Alan Oelschlager; one niece, Lucille Oelschlager; Aunts, Alfreda Mitre and Rhonda Coalwell; Uncles, Michael Ottaviano, Robert Mitre, Ronald White (Macky),Terrance Lynch; Cousins, Lucius Catha, Skye Catha, Christopher Ottaviano, Michael Ottaviano, Lisa Begaye, Haley Begaye, Sheldon Begaye, Destiney Ramos, Whitley White and Terrell Durr.
She now joins her beloved father, Luigi Ottavino; Grandfather, Carlo Ottaviano; Grandmother Vera Hovietz; Aunts, Lawana Ramos and Star White; and many other family members in heaven—reunited in peace and love.
Queenie touched countless lives with her gentle grace and fierce strength. Whether offering a comforting word, a listening ear, or an unexpected laugh, “Queenie” made the world a better place simply by being in it. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
